Older and Bolder. Making the Most of Our Lives After Loss with Debbie McCulloch
What is stopping you from living your life to the fullest, even after experiencing grief and loss?
In this episode, I'm joined by Debbie McCulloch, the host of the Older and Bolder podcast. She is a retired Community Pharmacist who thought of podcasting as a new adventure, as she always loved writing and public speaking. Right before the launch, her husband got really sick and eventually passed, which gave podcasting a whole new meaning; it was her chance to make the most of her life.
Debbie uses her platform to promote the stories of fifty-plus fearless and fabulous women willing to share their stories of resilience, finding purpose, following passion, and helping others. She believes that growing older is a gift that needs to be embraced and appreciated.
Throughout this episode, Debbie shares her journey into podcasting, how starting her show impacted her mood and mental health, and the things she learned from getting in touch with new people each week. Experiencing pregnancy loss twice during her motherhood journey, Eileen is helping women feel seen, held, and honored. As part of her work, she authored the book, To Tend and To Hold, dedicated to women who went through perinatal loss. The book was born to support them in acknowledging the pregnancy and the end of it while undergoing postpartum without a living child. Throughout this episode, the importance of doulas, the need for cultural guidelines and resources supporting those who experience infant loss will be highlighted.
