The Beginning of the Rest of Your Life

Ep. 1

Have you ever woken up one day and asked yourself, “Where has the time gone?” Whether you’re 40, 60, or 80, it can be a stunning realization to realize that life has been passing you by. But once you have that urgency, you can truly understand the power of embracing the second act—of reclaiming your passion and rewriting your story.

Welcome to episode one of Embrace the Encore. I’m Marie Wallace and my passion is empowering other women. I’m reaching out to every woman who has ever doubted herself or wondered if it's too late and I’m showing them that there is still time to embark on an extraordinary journey of self-discovery.

Sometimes in life, we have a profound experience that completely shapes the rest of our journey. I witnessed my mother in the later stages of her life, struggling with the regret of so many unfulfilled dreams that now seemed completely out of reach. That’s when my own perspective shifted and I began to realize the importance of a second act.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • My own mother’s regrets served as the inspiration for me to live out my own encore (01:32)
  • Every woman has the power within her to create a remarkable second act (04:44)
  • Our struggles in life help to develop our strengths (08:57)
  • Today’s Western woman is stuck in a power paradox (12:12)
