Adam Roberts (Cardinal Black) #43
Thanks for checking out episode 43 of Drum For The Song podcast featuring Cardinal Black groove machine Adam Roberts.
In this episode, Adam and I have a long in-depth chat about his relationship with the drums strongly influenced by his father who is also a drummer plus the complicated history of his band Cardinal Black featuring 'best new guitarist in the world' Chris Buck, super smoothe soulful vocalist Tom Hollister and funky bassist Sam Williams and explains why the band say that they the "the oldest new band in the world" and how they were discovered by managed by ex-Guns N' Roses manager Alan Niven before the band decided to go their separate ways around ten years ago.
Adam talks about how the band recently reformed and talks about the making of their stunning new album 'January Came Close' which was released on October 28th 2022 and is a must listen for anyone who appreciates good music. We also talk about the Cardinal Black's relatively quick rise to fame including sold out headline shows and many support tours already including Myles Kennedy, The Struts and upcoming shows with the legendary Peter Frampton!
We also chatted about Adam's beautiful vintage Ludwig Vistalite drums (owned by his father), Zildjian cymbals and Promark drumsticks, his influences, meeting Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, getting his personal Instagram account hacked and much more.
