The episode of CourseCast focuses on a new course-  Bachelor of Business Hospitality and Tourism Management. We hear about why a need was identified for the course; how the blended, work-integrated element will be implemented, the involvement of County Wexford Chamber Skillnet, what students will get from the programme and lots more.

This episode is about the BSc in Intellectual Disability Nursing; a speciality field of nursing that provides holistic care to persons with an intellectual disability. Intellectual disability nurses work as part of a transdisciplinary team in order to enable and empower people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their full potential. The podcast panel were Louise Brady, a lecturer on the course; Jessica Canavan who has just completed Fourth Year, and Sinead O'Donnell, a current student heading into her third year of the programme. They break down the role of the ID nurse, the structure of the course, the kind of jobs for ID nurses, and some of the misconceptions about ID nursing as a profession.

Here, we hear all about Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy, a BSc degree programme that focuses on the prevention, assessment and diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries related to physical activities. Guests on the podcasts were lecturers Mary Dowling and Frank Devereux, along with current student Adam Nolan. They explored the modules and practical elements of the course, as well as work placement opportunities in Ireland and further afield, the careers available to graduates, the excellent facilities for students at SETU, and the opportunity for further study.

This episode focuses on two digital marketing offerings at SETU: Marketing and Digital Media, available on the Waterford campus; and Digital Marketing with Analytics, which can be studied at the Carlow campus. The BA (Hons) in Marketing & Digital Media is a four year degree course, which prepares students for employment in marketing in the digital age. The BSc and the BSc (Hons) in Digital Marketing with Analytics provides a space to explore the customer and commercial focus of marketing, the creativity of design and digital technology, and the analytical world of data.Programme Directors of the courses Denis Harris and Denise Earl, were joined by graduates Megan Lanigan and Jack Cleere, and by Sarah Sunday, a current student of Digital Marketing with Analytics. They discussed the programmes, content and modules, placement opportunities as well as options to travel abroad, as well as looking at the broad-ranging careers available with these qualifications.

In this episode, you can hear about the BSC and the BSC (Hons) in Applied Healthcare. This is the first programme of its kind in Ireland and is designed to help students understand the varied needs of patients and enable the delivery of direct health care in hospitals, community care, general practice, pharmaceutical industry and health research. Guests on this episode of CourseCast were Ruth Maher, Programme Lead; Dr Louise Bennett, course lecturer, and by recent graduate Catherine Goulding. They discuss how the course offers numerous career pathways but also serves as a basis for numerous areas of further study.

The BA in Criminal Justice Studies is degree course designed to equip the student with general knowledge and transferable skills while focusing on the broad theme of criminal justice. It is a multidisciplinary course. In this episode of CourseCast, the guests were: Donal Keating, Programme Lead; graduate Andy Ryan (who is now working in probation services) and fourth year student Liam Flanagan, who is hoping to join An Garda Siochána. They gave an overview of the modules on the course, the placement opportunities, and the wide (and sometimes unexpected) careers in which graduates might find themselves. They also discussed how Criminal Justice Studies can be a foundation for many further studies.

This episode focuses on the BSc (Hons) in General Nursing. The programme is delivered in a purpose-built, world-class learning environment and students undertake clinical practice in many hospitals throughout the south east region. Podcast guests on this episode were Dr Teresa Dowling, course lecturer; Keith Kelly, 3rd year student on the programme; and Nessa Doyle, current postgraduate student and General Nurse/Clinical Nurse Manager in Endoscopy. They outlined the course content, practical skills acquired in SETU's state-of-the-art laboratories, as well as looking at the wide- ranging placement opportunities available throughout the four years of the degree. The panel also highlights the vast career opportunities for nurses, not just in Ireland but all over the world.

Here, we hear about the BA Hons in Public Relations and Media, a course which provides graduates with the knowledge and skills to step into an exciting communications career. The panel - comprising Programme Director Gregg Murphy; Senior Lecturer Pauline Flanagan; Fourth Year student Louise Dunne, and graduate Orna Whyte - outline the course structure, the modules covered, the differences (and similarities) between PR and media, and how important it is to understand both to have a career in either. They also look at the varied job opportunities available to graduates, and how students can apply their own passions to hone a speciality for themselves.

The BSc (Hons) in Computing in Interactive Art and Design (referred to as IDAD) gives graduates the know-how for success in digital artistry and application development. They will learn concept design, digital artwork production and graphics coding. On this episode we hear from Philip Bourke, Programme Lead; Colm O'Neill, course lecturer and Julianna Rohan, a student who has just finished the course and is about to embark on a Masters. They give an overview of what the course is about, the modules covered, and the types of careers in which graduates might find themselves. The podcast guests also talk about the exciting opportunities for students to attend events outside of the University campus, including Games Fleadh, Dingle Animated and Kilkenny Animated.
