CĂ©dric Petitdidier et Vincent Prioux ont crĂ©e PETITDIDIERPRIOUX Architectes (PPX) en 2004. Ils remportent leur premier concours Ă  tout juste vingt-quatre ans, sur le thĂšme « Comment habiterez-vous demain ? » (Archinova). Une trentaine de rĂ©alisations plus tard, PPX est reconnue internationalement par de nombreux prix, dont le plus rĂ©cent : Architizer A+AWARDS, ‘Best Residential Firm’ 2022.


Leur agence, basĂ©e Ă  Paris et Ă  Lyon, compte aujourd’hui une quarantaine de collaborateurs. Son Ă©quilibre relĂšve Ă  la fois de la force de travail des grandes structures et de la souplesse du studio. PPX a sa propre expertise dans le domaine de l'habitat, en misant toujours sur une ‘densitĂ© conviviale’ pour faire cohabiter habitat individuel et habitat collectif, y compris pour les immeubles de grande hauteur. Les projets s’étendent de la France jusqu’à Moscou. PPX a dĂ©veloppĂ© de nombreux concepts en logement intermĂ©diaire, notamment celui de maison-plateau — une maison individuelle en habitat collectif. Comment vivre ensemble sans sacrifier l’intimitĂ© d’un foyer ? Qu’est-ce qui fait une maison ? Comment travailler le rapport Ă  l’espace public, au seuil ? Au delĂ  des dĂ©fis techniques, sociaux et environnementaux, PPX s’autorisent Ă  penser les enjeux thĂ©oriques. C’est la partie non-bĂątie du projet — la vie, les familles, le foyer — une sculpture qui devient une architecture. C’est aussi ce qui influence positivement la ville.

Leur but est d’inscrire une dĂ©marche innovante dans un contexte rĂ©aliste, trouver le lien entre les choses, mettre le bon matĂ©riau au bon endroit. Dans ce CDA, CĂ©dric Petitdidier et Vincent Prioux abordent toutes les facettes du mĂ©tier. Depuis l’approche de l’architecture en promeneur jusqu’au choix de systĂšmes constructifs, et aux difficultĂ©s de cĂ©der l’exĂ©cution.

    In this Com d’Archi, discover ‘à la carte’ housing, a concept developed by PETITDIDIERPRIOUX Architectes (PPX) for its Philippe de Girard project, in Paris. A text written by PETITDIDIERPRIOUX Architectes and read by Esther.CĂ©dric Petitdidier and Vincent Prioux created PETITDIDIERPRIOUX Architects (PPX) in 2004. They won their first competition at the age of just twenty-four, on the theme "How will you live tomorrow?". Some thirty projects later, PPX has received international recognition through numerous awards, the most recent of which being the Architizer A+AWARDS, 'Best Residential Firm' 2022. The agency has developed its own expertise in the field of housing, relying on a 'convivial density' to make individual and collective housing cohabit, including high-rise buildings. Their questioning revolves around: how to live together without sacrificing the intimacy of a home? What makes a home?For the housing project on rue Philippe de Girard, PPX proposed an innovative approach to give the inhabitants a great deal of freedom in the configuration of their homes. The floors are open-plan thanks to a central core for fluids connection and a structural facade with double-skin allowing maximum luminosity. The inhabitants could then personnalise their homes, choosing how to divide the floors according to their needs. Depuis 2021 l’agence Ă©largit encore un peu plus son champ d'actions en cĂ©lĂ©brant l'ouverture de son pĂŽle design, et continue son expansion dans l’Ouest et le Sud-Est de la France, ainsi qu’en Espagne.Ainsi, l’agence CoBe regroupe les mĂ©tiers de l’architecture, de l’urbanisme, du paysage, de la conduite de chantier et du design.     In this Com d'Archi, through the voice of Esther, discover the festival ‘Utopies Constructives’ (Constructive Utopias) and its realisation: a thirteen meters long wicker footbridge. This footbridge was realised with the collective ‘Construire l’Architecture’ (Constructing Architecture).Founded in 2019 by Marc Hymans, Geoffrey Clamour, Priscillia Jorge and Camille Sineau from ‘BETA’ (Bureau for Experimental Architecture) and Benjamin Marolleau from the cultural center ‘La Teinturerie’, the festival is dedicated to innovation and research in architecture and construction. It takes place in Richelieu, the city named after Cardinal Richelieu who had it built on the model of the ideal city. Thus, the wicker footbridge project not only aims to embody the researches on resource preservation and new building techniques but also to reopen this historic site to its inhabitants. The bridge will be raised over the Mable canal in the park Richelieu, offering new paths into the garden. Its design combines traditional basketry techniques with new technology since its weaving was calculated with the BAYA algorithm.     Dans ce Com d’Archi, HĂ©loĂŻse Leboucher et Marc Hymans, s’expriment sur la prĂ©servation des ressources, le rĂ©emploi des matĂ©riaux, et comment trouver de nouveaux modes d’habiter.Au croisement entre architecture, ingĂ©nierie et art, le festival ‘Utopies constructives’ est dĂ©diĂ© Ă  l’innovation et Ă  la recherche. Dans un contexte oĂč les ressources sont autant une question de disponibilitĂ© que de gĂ©opolitique, ce festival propose de repenser la consommation des matĂ©riaux dĂšs la conception d’un projet. Ainsi, les partenaires — BETA, La Teinturerie, Campus des MĂ©tiers d’Art et du Design, Chancellerie des UniversitĂ©s de Paris, ILEK (UniversitĂ© de Stuttgart) — de la premiĂšre Ă©dition ont conçu et construit une passerelle en osier qui prendra place dans le parc Richelieu.     A new SPOT format from Com d'Archi, dedicated to heritage, with a focus on the Ile-de-France naves rehabilitated by the Chatillon architects agency for the 2024 Olympic Games: those of the Grand-Palais in Paris and the Ile des Vannes in Saint-Ouen. I've long been an admirer of this agency, for which I did some historical research. So I know it at least from the inside. It always rehabilitates with extraordinary intelligence, with no fracture between past, present and future. J'admire depuis longtemps cette agence, pour laquelle j'avais livrĂ© une recherche historique. Ainsi je la connais a minima de l'intĂ©rieur. Elle rĂ©habilite toujours avec une intelligence hors-norme, sans fracture entre le passĂ©, le prĂ©sent et l'avenir.     Now we should think about repairing, reconstructing, transforming.CĂ©line Bouvier is one of the four associate architects at LBBA Architecture. In Anne-Charlotte's interview, she talks, with French sensibility, about her beginnings in the USA, the future of the agency and two projects by LBBA.The first one is the headquarter of the prestigious L'OrĂ©al company, in Clichy. A historical site, that was transformed little by little to create an avant-garde workspace, open onto a beautiful garden. A loft, not so formal but warm and welcoming, offering intimate spaces. As it is a project with challenges since the site is difficult to access, a light steel structure was designed to be brought easily into the space.The second one is located in Vitry, along the Seine river. The mixed-use project 'Les Docks du Port Ă  L'Anglais' was to recreate a little piece of city, on a very polluted site. The quality of this work resides not in its built mass but in its voids, the quality of the urban space.
