Francis discusses the scope of his project, which has just been awarded an extra 3 years of funding, along with the support it can provide.

They discuss advanced care planning which includes considerations around Lasting Power Of Attorney, will writing, funeral wishes and preferred place of care.

They talk about the challenges around starting conversations about death and dying and the particularly hard impact of the pandemic on carers looking after someone with complex care needs who is coming to the end of their life.

Francis also outlines Carers Network’s plans for Dying Matters Week, which this year falls in 2nd week of May and reads his very moving poem, ‘To The Bereaved’.
