When does a business typically start outsourcing its services? When hiring agents for BPO services, what soft skills, characteristics, and qualities should you look for in a candidate? What is Phonetic Micro Expression Reading, and how can it be leveraged in call centers?https://youtu.be/_3M0cyLKQykhttps://youtu.be/uM3SWevsxaIhttps://youtu.be/2DyaWZoz-DkThe Importance of Diligence and Endurance in BusinessAnd at the end of the day, Daniel, when you're talking about leverage, you got to choose between 10 companies. I'm not into the Philippines, might be a little more expensive. Look at the way I treated your assistant. I called you back on time, followed through on that email. How about this? I did so much due diligence on you from your LinkedIn profile on your website that I custom made your voicemail and email. He loved me. It was almost mine to lose. And so I'm earning these things by getting a lot of first downs and moving it forward through momentum. I'm not angling my way in there or pretending to be. And so if you have that sort of pace and rhythm, your supervisor needs to calm down. He should remember when he was on the phone and what it's like to do this sort of forced march. Now also, my friend, you need to build up that endurance for it. You're talking about manual dialing. We have machines now that do that for you. But the old school players off of those Cisco phones, remember how to do those dials?Richard Blank hired bassist Garry Gary Beers of INXS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieGjN5H4xPQLeverage, Daniel Tolson, Richard Blank, Costa Rica's Call Center, Outsourcing, Telemarketing Call Centre, BPO, Nearshore Contact Center, Sales, Entrepreneur, B2B, Business, Podcast, Gamification,Leadership, Marketing, CX, Guest, Money, B2C education, BPO trainer, call centre, contact centre, contact center, trend, trendingMitzi Ocasio Let's Think About "Soft Speaking Skills." But my parting words, what's assisted me in the long run is just not to be hard on myself. Okay, it's so important to look in my own eyes in the mirror. If you can't do that, we got some issues. And there needs to be some self respect. I like people that make their bed in the morning, if they're capable of hitting the gym, so they can release and retain. And if you can have a better diet, so we just don't do fun food all the time, we have food that can maintain and give you protein. You know, I always believe that regardless of any sort of outcome, at the end of the day, if you know you did things with honorable intentions and good faith, you should be able to live with yourself because a lot of people compare way too much and that's okay. But I don't know. I think you should be your own destiny, your own future, your own pace. My favorite actor is Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney. I mean, Basil Rathbone, that's my mentor. He was doing stuff in the thirties and forties. So when the client called me and said, Richard, do you know anything about classic movies? Yes. Wiffle ball pitch. Here we go again. I started rattling off all my Alfred Hitchcocks and Steve McQueen's. And I mean, come on, man, I'm all over the place. And the guy's like, man, you know this better than I do. I go, could you imagine how I'm going to be pushing this and selling this? Yeah, absolutely. Getting excited over the spaghetti Westerners of Clint Eastwood. I mean, you've got to be kidding me. These were classics. But I tell you what. One of the greatest things people can do is to watch these movies because if you're speaking, let's say for an example, you're 20 years old now and you wanna call someone like myself a business owner, You should be watching Fast Times at Richmond High and Failure Spielers Day Off. Why? Because that's what I grew up on. That's right. So when you call me up, you go, come on, man. You know Mike DeMone's five-point plan. Or you mentioned Scotty Palmer from the movie Hard Bodies when he talked about the BBD, the bigger, better deal. If you say that to me on a phone call, I have my credit card at the ready. So we all need to calm down and slow down. Secondly, this is my wheelhouse. How many times do you really get telemarketing calls? So I'll let Billy pitch me for five minutes. I'd love to hear him. And then I say, hey, Billy, you mind if I make a suggestion? Yeah. And then I rope-a-dope them. Real good. And at the end, they thank me. I will... Let them know times when they missed the beat. I will ask certain questions that they never followed up on. They'll glance over it. They'll hedge it and repeat it. But they won't ask a second or third question, which shows depth, interest, and anchoring, as we spoke earlier. I bet you at the end of the phone call, if I asked them to give me the meeting minutes, they couldn't even tell five of the answers that I gave or five of the extra things that I mentioned. And he said something earlier really stuck out to me when it came to leadership. When you're talking about how you wanted to make the people feel like people are not numbers. And I feel like that's a really big thing, especially nowadays when you work for these different companies and these different corporations that they just look at you as a number, you know what I mean? Not as an actual person. So for you to have that intuition to understand that, you know, if I had these people understand that they are people and I care about the person, then it's like everything else will come to respect will come. And it's easy to lead people that want to be, you know, they want to be led and feel appreciated. I believe in preventative measures instead of cures. So instead of a 10 minute conversation, Andrew, it's 20, 30 second conversations that you need to land. You need to get the checkpoint, the underwater thumbs up scuba diving because people rush their calls. You do agree with positive or negative reactions, reinforcements, Gotta take a breath, see what's going on in this boxing round. What are they doing? How are they reacting to you? Are you lowering temperatures and getting closer? And so these things are very important in these soft skills. So you're asking me to tie this thing in a bow and make it cookie cutter for everybody. You gotta be kidding me. These calls zig and zag. And so if you try to read your script, if you try to interject at the wrong time, cross-talking, interruptions, nice, and a bad call and you wonder why. And so there's certain timing, it's a two for a one, you take back and go in, you repeat and chisel, and you tell Billy with the coffee bread yelling at you to keep making phone calls your supervisor to calm down. because I'm looking to be engaged right now. I'm looking to be in the moment so I can capture that one or two things on that call that will completely diffuse the situation. The Power of Personal Connection in CommunicationThey didn't have matters. They didn't do their due diligence. They didn't look at your LinkedIn profile or website. They were not prepared to talk with you. And so, as I say, make these calls and emails and voicemails custom made. And if you do, at least you're gonna capture their attention so they'll listen to it. How about this? Richard, why are we leaving voicemails? That's a good point, Andrew. Tell you what, how many texts do you get a day? A thousand? How many emails do you get a day? 500? How many voicemails you get a day? five yeah so i'm gonna leave you a great voicemail tell you how great judy is so maybe you'll call me back and um all i know is this when i do call your company back and judy does pick up the phone she'll say richard i've been here for 10 years the only person who's ever complimenting you on the phone to andrew i'm gonna put you right through oh thank you It works, it won't compromise your ethics and it's gonna make somebody's day. So separate yourself from other people, pay that compliment, pay it forward.
