BEHIND THE BRANDS

  • Ep. 31 HNST - On a mission to make the most sustainable and circular Denim Brand in the World.

    43:26
Welcome back to the first show, of Season 4!We are delighted to bring you a conversation with Eva Engelen & Lander Desmedt from the truly circular Fashion Brand, HNST (pronounced Honest). The team at HNST are working extremely hard, trying to create a Denim based collection as sustainable and as circular as possible.Cotton is often called a thirsty crop, for which inefficient farming and irrigation techniques are to blame. A conventional pair of jeans requires on average 3 kg of raw cotton and consequentially, 7000 litres of water. HNST jeans contain 56% recycled cotton, 23% Greek cotton and 21% Tencel. As a result they only require 361 litres of water per pair, which means we are reducing water consumption with 95%, compared with industry standards. Our conversation delves into the entire production process as well as the inherent values that the company has for full corporate transparency and doing things, honestly. You can check out their full collection at https://www.letsbehonest.eu/ or follow them @letsbehonest.eu on Instagram.Voiceover by www.delaross.comBEHIND THE BRANDS was produced in association with www.beforeStores.com
