Hometown Gory

New year, same old Spurs - at least as far as the men are concerned. For the women, it’s a bright new day with five - that’s FIVE - signings made this window. The men could quite literally never. Or they could, but it wouldn’t make any difference. Or would it?  

Billie, Lauren and Rosa take the positive(s?) from the Palace win, and make their transfer wish lists (in AND out) and COYS resolutions for the year ahead. Because it’s the last pod of the year, we take one last weepy look back at Bilbao, the parade, and all the love we can give this club when it just shows us it cares. And most importantly of all, we dish out our Best of 2025 culture picks.

The office Powerleague team returns to get absolutely thumped by SEAN DYCHE’S Nottingham Forest. What is there even to say. Elsewhere, the women came agonisingly close to an incredible victory over Man Utd but were undone by, essentially, years of underinvestment. Crazy how bad decisions come back to bite you, isn’t it?

Tottenham followed up their best result at St James’ Park since the halcyon days of Steve Bruce with a very sensible 2 nil win over Brentford. Ash, Billie, Lauren and Rosa enjoy the break from Boogate, swoon over Xavi, and present the case for the prosecution AND defence of one Richarlison de Andrade.  Elsewhere, our beloved captain Beth England led the fightback against Villa, supported by the magic of Olivia Holdt. Also! Is cinema dead? For Billie’s sake, let’s hope not.
