Hometown Gory

This week in Tottenham: everyone has just given up. The players can’t be arsed. The club is briefing against itself. Scott Munn is leaving and no one will ever know what his job really was. But we’re still here! Billie, Lauren and Rosa do their best with what they’re given (which is more than we can say for Tottenham). Bonus! Some lovely culture picks from you, our lovely listeners. 

Lauren, Rosa and Tom take some time out to enjoy every single thing about that out-of-nowhere win at Eintracht Frankfurt. Everybody did their jobs! There were actual leaders on the pitch! No one did anything catastrophically stupid! Guys…could we?

Lauren and Rosa discuss the fallout from Wolves and preview Thursday’s game at Frankfurt and the women’s fixture against Villa. But really, does it matter? Lauren enjoyed a lovely steak and a glass of red at least. 

We say goodbye to two weeks of relative peace without the men of Tottenham Hotspur FC troubling us. There are the games against Chelsea and Southampton to look forward to (LOL) but more pressingly, the club released its annual accounts, complete with a statement of such staggering gall that the collective rattle could be heard from space. The timing is perfect at least, as our very special guest Micky Kerr is here to show us there is a way out of the dystopian hell that is world football. We CAN take our ball home with us, if we all do it together. The revolution starts here! 

Back after our mini break, we’ve got an international check in, the Poch elephant in the room, (more) bad times for Spurs Women, culture picks, and MOST THRILLINGLY the return of the Hometown Glory quiz! Who came out on top after three fiendishly tricky rounds of Pointless Ferdinand, Glenn Squaddle, and Champions Lee? 

Is this the end of the road for Ange? Does it matter? DOES ANYTHING MATTER? 

This week, it’s one club mentality in its purest form as the men and the women both played host to Man City, and both lost by a single goal. More maddening parallels include lineup chaos, unlucky misses, and off the pitch drama that is TESTING our ability to maintain zen. Also on the agenda: a preview of our season-defining fixture at Alkmaar, and more unlucky results at the Oscars.
