In a tragic week for the wider boxing family with the death of Maxim Dadasgev and also the dealth of Nika McGuigan daughter of Irish boxing icon Barry McGuigan. This episode is dedicated to the memory of both.
Theres a look over the return of pro boxing to Cork City last weekend with Leeside Revolution - G-Train Graham McCormack tells me about his thoughts i on his fight and his plan for the coming weeks and months. As Irish Boxing history books are written and time slips by - the are many great Irish warriors who laced up the gloves. Eamonn 'King' Kane is one of those standout warriors who will live long in the memory of many. From his sterling amateur career where he won European Gold, Commonwealth gold and wore the Irish vest with distinction to his pro career where he famously won the Prizefighter tournament in 2012 and of course his amazing battle with Tureano Johnson in Madison Square Garden. Listen also as Eamonn is very defnite about the issues George Groves left at a certain coaches door on his retirement. That coach of course is Swindon based Clare man Paddy Fitzpatrick. Hear how Paddy's boxing journey has taken him from working under Frdddie Roach in the Wildcard Gym, to coaching Eamonn and of course those epic battles between George Groves and Carl Froch. Its safe to say that Paddy is one of THE most likable,genuine and knowledgeable coaches in the game and it was a provelege to speak to him.
