47 After Midnight
Your Old Life Is Gone. The New One Isn't Here Yet.
Yesterday, after seeing a wildly sexy man embracing pull ups at the street workout park the way I embrace a bar of dark chocolate, I knew I had to publish this. It wasn't so much him as the shirt he was wearing. It said: the balance of opposites. Which is the epitome of rising.
When we rise from the ashes (after an all-consuming burnout, a heartbreak, a total loss of identity and vision), it is not a linear process.
It can be grueling. There are endless false peaks. And we find ourselves sounding like the kid in the back seat: "Are we there yet?"
This episode is the beginning of an answer to that. The balance of your opposites (between old you and the new you that's tip-toeing its way forward) might be the most important thing to know about what it actually means to rise.

2. Can We Really Buy Our Security? With Ivan Sellers
54:34||Season 2, Ep. 2Can we really buy our security? This episode is one I've wanted to have for a long time. Finally, it is here. Today, a dear friend of mine, Ivan Sellers, joins me from the countryside of Portugal, cushioned on his cozy back porch next to bright purple bougainvillea in bloom and autumn beginning to turn down the temperatures. The fun part here is: I get to ask about the plot twist of Ivan's life, letting go of the tailored suits and big jobs with lots of money and European aristocracy.... To hear him let us in on where he is now, building a foundation, Terra Agora, to outlast him as it invites people to care for land rather than own it. It's a bold invitation. One that asks us to look at what "security" really means to us and if we are holding onto an ideal of security that may be blocking us from a life that is more true to who we are. A life that truly feels lived THROUGH us where security comes in all new forms, ones that can never be bought but are much more rooted than any real estate investment or insurance plan.So pour some tea, take a walk, or just get cozy and tune into what Ivan has to share about the question "Can we really buy our security?"Check out Ivan's work at https://terra-agora.org/In This Episode:(00:00) — Welcome, and introducing Ivan, the international man of mystery(02:52) — The moment he knew he couldn't go back to the suits and the big jobs(10:16) — Where Ivan is right now, and what the land is doing this week(13:37) — What Terra Agora is, and how "owned by no one but itself" works in law(21:15) — Who are the Guardians, and where this kind of stewardship already exists(30:54) — Can we really buy our security?(40:48) — Leadership when what you serve has no voice and no deadline(45:36) — One small move, and where to find Terra Agora
1. Who Am I When I Stop Achieving?
17:28||Season 2, Ep. 1This episode is for anyone who's ever been asked "So what do you do?" and felt like the real answer wasn't in your job title. At its core, this episode asks what happens when the identities we lean on stop working. Achiever. Whatever job title you lead with. The one who has it together. Who are we underneath all of it? Taylor traces this through a personal history of home insecurity, family estrangement, and grief, arguing that pain isn't just something to survive. It's something that can introduce us to parts of ourselves we'd otherwise never meet. This is an episode about the difference between performing a life and actually being present for your own.
5. The Old World Is Dying. We're the New Seed.
01:26:08||Season 1, Ep. 5I sit down with NDE researcher David Suich to talk about the old way of leadership unraveling right in front of us. We zoom way out from today's news feeds. From gladiators dying in the Colosseum for entertainment, to the politicians dominating our headlines today... It's amazing how far we've already come, and yet we have much further still to go. We talk about pain as the last language left when wisdom goes unheard, and why the leadership we actually need isn't built on authority at all. It's built on teachers, not rulers. On compassion and reciprocity, rooted in the earth and in each other. Together, we're watching something old die in real time. Something new is starting to grow underneath it.
4. Making Money Was the Easy Way Out
01:06:22||Season 1, Ep. 4This one is unpolished and real. Two people, 40 years apart, who've both seen something beyond a life based on making money, talking honestly about it.Doug has lived a lot of lives: corporate manager, permaculture designer, yacht skipper, ranch hand, wedding caterer. Not because he couldn't commit, but because curiosity kept winning. In this conversation, we pull apart the stories most of us inherited about money, safety, and what a life is supposed to look like. And what it quietly costs us to live inside them without ever questioning them.We talk about the moment Doug walked away from a corporate career, why making money felt like "the easy way out", and what permaculture taught him about how humans were never meant to live. We get into the "do-have-be" trap, what ninety-year-olds wish they'd done differently, the myth of retirement, and why reciprocity isn't linear. It's multidimensional.
3. The Vision You Couldn't See Until Everything Collapsed
26:28||Season 1, Ep. 3What happens to your vision of life when everything you built it on falls away? This episode is for anyone in the middle of that collapse (or just emerging from it), asking what comes next and who you actually are now. From the truth quest to the radio static of identity in transition, this is an honest, unpolished exploration. Of what a vision really is, where it comes from, and what becomes possible when you stop building it from fear and start building it from healthy soil. Got something stirring in you? 1. I'm Not Ready (And I'm Doing It Anyway)
11:23||Season 1, Ep. 1There's a voice in my head that says I'm not ready to do this. So I'm doing it anyway.... From my humble apartment on the coast of Portugal, with a big smile and zero certainty. This is episode one of 47 After Midnight, where we ask the question nobody asks enough: what if leadership isn't a title you earn but a spark you either honor or extinguish? Pilot episode. Real voice. No waiting until I'm ready. Welcome to 47 After Midnight.
