    Hey bbs! Auntie is back and sitting down in her proverbial living room with the James Beard Award and Michelin Star-winning chef, Charlie Mitchell of SAGA New York. Mitchell’s name seemed to be on the tip of everyone’s tongue last year. The 32-year-old chef had not only made history as the first Black chef in New York to ever win a Michelin star for his fine dining skills at Brooklyn Heights’s local Clover Hill. But he had then went on to win a James Beard Award: Best Chef, NY state. A wunderkind in the kitchen who was making history and breaking glass ceilings, Mitchell has now taken the reigns at Saga NY and is bringing a much-needed energy into NY fine dining–from his flavorful recipes to his Drake-filled playlists. We’ll be talking with the Detroit native about how he’s dominating the food world and leaving no crumbs in his young career. Mitchell also just happens to be our first cis het male guest ever– he just continues to make history…Credits:Host: Marjon Carlos @marjon_carlosProduction: WTF Media @wtfmediastudiosEditing: We The Cool @wethecoolstudioMusic: Preston Morris Neukirch @pres.morrisSocial: Diana Caro @carobydianaFollow Us On Social!Show IG: @yourfavoriteauntieshow Host IG: @marjon_carlosTikTok: @ yourfavoriteauntieshowWeb: www.yourfavoriteauntie.comLA WILDFIRE MUTUAL AIDES:Displaced Black Families GoFund Me Google DocResources for Artists Affected By the LA Fires: artsharela.org/fire-resourcesFree and Centralized Resource Forum: LAfires.iolovesyou.comAltadena GirlsAnti-Recidivism Coalition

    01:03:03||Season 2, Ep. 14

But hang in there: next week she’s back in the proverbial living room with an incredible new guest you won’t want to miss...Credits:Host: Marjon Carlos @marjon_carlosProducer: Mbiye Kasonga @mbiye_kEditing: We The Cool @wethecoolstudioMusic: Preston Morris Neukirch @pres.morrisSocial: Diana Caro @carobydianaFollow Us On Social!Show IG: @yourfavoriteauntieshow Host IG: @marjon_carlosTikTok: @ yourfavoriteauntieshowWeb: www.yourfavoriteauntie.comLA WILDFIRE MUTUAL AIDES:Displaced Black Families GoFund Me Google DocResources for Artists Affected By the LA Fires: artsharela.org/fire-resourcesFree and Centralized Resource Forum: LAfires.iolovesyou.comAltadena GirlsAnti-Recidivism CoalitionDoc with more mutual aid resources: tiny.cc/malan-fireDonate Food with Instacart! WILDLIFE AND DISASTER RESOURCES AND ALERTSAPP: Watch DutySits: Listoscalifornia.orgwww.fira.ca.gov
  • 13. Season 2, Episode 13: Auntie and Cami Árboles!

    01:37:31||Season 2, Ep. 13
    Hey bbs! For our latest interview this season, Auntie sits down in her proverbial living room with the spellbinding pole artist and creative, Cami Árboles. Many know Árboles from her viral pole video of the then-Yale graduate spinning in her cap and gown to celebrate earning her degree in Performance from the Ivy League university. The watershed moment broke open a conversation on the presence of pole’s place in such lofty institutions and also marked a huge transition in Árboles’s career. The shapeshifting goddess would go on to famously teach SZA how to work the pole, collaborate with FKA twigs, open her own movement studio, and tour the world teaching others the power of pole. With an unerring optimism and infectious energy, Árboles discusses the challenges and joys of dancing in heels, the importance of embracing pain and growth, and how the body serves as a canvas for art. You won’t want to miss this must-hear ki!Credits:Host: Marjon Carlos @marjon_carlosProducer: Mbiye Kasonga @mbiye_kEditing: We The Cool @wethecoolstudioMusic: Preston Morris Neukirch @pres.morrisSocial: Diana Caro @carobydianaFollow Us On Social!Show IG: @yourfavoriteauntieshow Host IG: @marjon_carlosTikTok: @ yourfavoriteauntieshowWeb: www.yourfavoriteauntie.comLA WILDFIRE MUTUAL AIDES:Displaced Black Families GoFund Me Google DocResources for Artists Affected By the LA Fires: artsharela.org/fire-resourcesFree and Centralized Resource Forum: LAfires.iolovesyou.comAltadena GirlsAnti-Recidivism CoalitionDoc with more mutual aid resources: tiny.cc/malan-fireDonate Food with Instacart! WILDLIFE AND DISASTER RESOURCES AND ALERTSAPP: Watch DutySits: Listoscalifornia.orgwww.fira.ca.gov

Putting her fashion editor roots to work, Auntie reveals the science behind proportions and why this denim trend is here to stay. She also delves into the cultural phenomenon that is “the American Lady in Pakistan” and why this story is actually a testament to how humanity is not lost despite what global politics may look like these days. The return of “Summer House” and all the drama that has ensued captivated Auntie this week, as she digs into Paige and Craig's split, the Ciara and West standoff, and Lindsay’s pregnancy reveal. And as always, Marjon delivers her signature advice for the ASK AUNTIE ANYTHING segment, passing along the career advice she got from Toni Morrison that she’s never forgotten…Credits:Host: Marjon Carlos @marjon_carlosProducer: Mbiye Kasonga @mbiye_kEditing: We The Cool @wethecoolstudioMusic: Preston Morris Neukirch @pres.morrisSocial: Diana Caro @carobydianaFollow Us On Social!Show IG: @yourfavoriteauntieshow Host IG: @marjon_carlosTikTok: @ yourfavoriteauntieshowWeb: www.yourfavoriteauntie.comLA WILDFIRE MUTUAL AIDES:Displaced Black Families GoFund Me Google DocResources for Artists Affected By the LA Fires: artsharela.org/fire-resourcesFree and Centralized Resource Forum: LAfires.iolovesyou.comAltadena GirlsAnti-Recidivism CoalitionDoc with more mutual aid resources: tiny.cc/malan-fireDonate Food with Instacart! TONI MORRISON ESSAY: “The Work You Do, the Person You Are”
