This story was collected at the beginning of the 19th century in Norway. It tells the story of a magical bear that comes to visit the house of a poor family and takes away the youngest girl in exchange for lifting the whole family out of poverty. When she gets home to his castle, all is beautiful but she misses her family terribly.
