About our hosts:

Marianna Richardson:

I love to teach the gospel to my family and bear testimony of Jesus Christ to those around me. My wonderful husband and I have 12 children and currently, 30 grandchildren. Steve and I served in the Brazil Sao Paulo South Mission between 2008 – 2011. Also, I enjoy teaching at Brigham Young University and helping students become successful in life.

Christine Thackeray:

I’m honored to be part of this effort with truly great and educated women. I’m self-taught, a little irreverent, but love the scriptures for both their sacred words and their wild and twisted corners. I’ve also had the privilege of teaching all seven of my children for at least one semester in early morning Seminary and currently live in Rexburg Idaho.

Annette Marie Lantos Tillemann-Dick:

Currently Co-Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice, Annette has taught many subjects both at home and in the public school system; written a book on Halloween published in Danish and Dutch; and been an advocate on Capitol Hill for refugees and oppressed groups in Turkey. Annette has truly lived a life filled with experiences that have profoundly fortified her testimony of Christ and the restored gospel.

  • 45. Come Follow Me Lesson | Moroni 10 | Book of Mormon

    33:52||Season 2, Ep. 45
    Dru and Marianna discuss the last chapter of the Book of Mormon. It is a little tender time to be ending our study – but we can still read the Book of Mormon every day. In this chapter, Moroni has reviewed the record and he is adding his last words. As an activity, review the first chapters of the Book of Mormon with the last chapter. Both discuss the tender mercies of the Lord. Think about the tender mercy moments in the Book of Mormon and the tender mercy moments in our own lives. Personal revelation is essential for understanding truth. Sincere prayer and using our spiritual gifts are crucial in seeking answers. Perfection is only achieved through personal effort but must be achieved through grace. The discussion ends with lessons learned from their study of the Book of Mormon, encouraging listeners to document their spiritual insights and experiences during this year’s study.
  • 44. Come Follow Me Lesson | Moroni 7-9 | Book of Mormon

    29:51||Season 2, Ep. 44
    Dru and Marianna discuss the way Christ lifts us up. Moroni is giving us what we need in these latter days. He returns to three letters of his father, Mormon: first a letter to the peaceable followers of Christ, a letter about no children baptism, and finally, a letter centered on faith, hope, and charity. These three letters teach us that the distinction between good and evil is clear – there are no gray areas. The light of Christ is an influence for good in everyone. We must actively choose to invite light into our lives because charity is a state of being rather than just an action. Finally, they highlight the role of music and personal experiences of testimony in finding hope and joy – no matter our circumstances.

  • 42. Come Follow Me Lesson | Ether 12 - 15 | Book of Mormon

    28:02||Season 2, Ep. 42
    Dru and Marianna discuss Ether 12 - 15. They focus on the profound themes of faith, hope, and charity as presented in these chapters. Faith is the foundation for miracles, personal transformation, and all spiritual experiences. Miracles are a result of faith and divine timing. Hope is a living gift that grows with faith and becomes an anchor to the soul. Charity is essential for inheriting eternal life. Conversations with God can guide us in overcoming our weaknesses. Humility allows our weaknesses to become strengths. The Atonement is the greatest miracle of all to heal us from sin. We must actively seek to understand the Atonement and remember that the best days are ahead for those who have faith.
  • 41. Come Follow Me Lesson | Ether 6-11 | Book of Mormon

    32:24||Season 2, Ep. 41
    Dru and Marianna discuss Ether 6-11. They focus on the journey of the Jaredites, their faith, leadership lessons, the role of prophets, and the dangers of secret combinations. They emphasize the importance of remembering God's blessings of the power of repentance and forgiveness. The Nephites discovered the Jaredite records and a prophet translated them. Moroni made an abridgment. Reading Ether brings knowledge and joy despite its somber themes. The journey to the promised land required immense faith and resilience. The Jaredites' righteousness led to posterity and their wickedness led to their destruction. Remembering God's blessings fosters gratitude and faith. Secret combinations are a significant warning in the Book of Mormon. They destroyed both the Nephite civilization and the Jaredites. Repentance is always available, regardless of past actions, for all individuals. Forgiveness is essential in our relationships and for spiritual growth. The messages in Ether empower us to resist evil and return to God.
  • 40. Come Follow Me Lesson | Ether 1-5 | Book of Mormon

    32:03||Season 2, Ep. 40
    Dru and Marianna acknowledge that as we cry unto the Lord, He will have compassion on us. Through our belief in Him, we can receive specific revelation for our lives. We may experience His chastening, especially when we make bad choices. But the Lord invites us to repent and come unto Him. The Lord will prepare us to cross our own “great deep.” Through the vision of the Brother of Jared and the First Vision, we know that we are created in the image of God. Book of Mormon prophets prophesied that witnesses would testify of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon.
  • 39. Come Follow Me Lesson | Mormon 7-9 | Book of Mormon

    22:20||Season 2, Ep. 39
    Marianna and Dru discuss that Moroni knew what it felt like to be alone in a wicked world—especially after his father died in battle and the Nephites were destroyed. “I even remain alone,” he wrote. “I have not friends nor whither to go.” What helped him through this difficult time was his belief in Jesus Christ and his testimony of His gospel. The Book of Mormon is of great worth to us today and was written for our day, not for the Nephites who never had an opportunity to read it. Our responsibility is to read the Book of Mormon, and not condemn it because of imperfections that are in it. Believing and studying this record will allow us to enjoy greater enlightenment in the future. I can keep the commandment even when I feel alone.
