"My parents didn't support my career so when my mom died I had to seize the opportunity" - MC Remote
The skit-maker and stand-up comedian, MC Remote, is my guest today.
He tells me how growing up, his parents did not support his dreams. When he wanted to try comedy, they said no. When he tried drawing, they said no. Even when he turned to boxing, they said no again. Every talent he introduced to his family, they dismissed. But he kept fighting, he kept going.
He says he was not great in school either, and sometimes it felt like he was just trying and failing. And then he lost his mom, and that moment changed everything. He says he had to leave the house, to find his own path, to survive.
When I ask about his marriage, he tells me it is because he had no mother, and his wife stepped into that space for him. She has always been there, supportive and strong. He says she is the only one who can truly handle him.
And this is MC Remote, telling his story as it is.
