In the first episode of What We Wrote, we kick off with our very first book that we wrote together, which began 19 years ago on this day. It's called Living 2 Die and yes, it is every bit as ridiculous and melodramatic as the title suggests. In episode one we start with the prophecy that isn't really a prophecy and puzzle over vague world building and entertaining typos.

How many loaves of bread can you eat in a day? In this episode we are introduced to our main characters Jane and Ella. We talk about the lack of setting and pointless gymnastics. Join us as we try to figure out if magic is as exciting as the characters seem to think.

Is it offensive to be called an elf? Can trees have eyebrows? This week Jane and Ella both get a helpful tree to start them on their journey and we get a glimpse of the weird horse girls that we were (are). 

Can lions purr? Despite what Esme confidently says in this episode, no they can't. This week, Jane throws hands with a bear and makes some new friends.

In this episode, our four young elves finally find one another. Naturally they have a lot to talk about with each other. Such as who are they? Why were they sent to Bàhàdàpur? Where are they going next? And why? If you're hoping to get any answers in this episode, you really should know better by now.

In this episode, we still don't find out exactly what was written on the tent instructions. But we do have some great girl-bonding moments between Jane and Ella, as well as a quick little first aid lesson.

This week we discuss the Bechdel Test and realise that we could replace all four of our main characters with lamps and it would not impact the story in any way. Our four intrepid lamps continue on their journey, for reasons unbeknownst to them or us, whilst determinedly refusing to talk about anything that actually matters.
