The pressure to ‘do’

Season 1, Ep. 34

I’m sure many moms listening can relate, the pressure to ‘do’ is real. It was real before kids, but it’s even more accentuated post kids. D&A discuss how they’ve started to unlearn old programming of ‘do, do, do’, how taking moments for themselves to recharge is just as important and how multitasking, while sometimes a good thing, can also be detrimental. They also talk about the boundaries and systems they have in place to ensure they’re including time to rest, either alone or with family, so they can be present and recharged.

  • 39. In laws / parents and parenting

    29:43||Season 1, Ep. 39
    One of the most talked about themes on our instagram: navigating in laws / parents. Everyone has their own family dynamic, but D&A shed some light on their personal experiences with their family and in-laws, as well as common family dynamics so many of us experience. They discuss the fine line between parents, ‘parenting’ us vs. being grandparents to our kids, the importance of clear boundaries and outlining roles / responsibilities and the need for mutual respect. While our parents / in laws may want to share opinions and advice for our own benefit, sometimes we as parents need to make our own mistakes and go through our own journey in order to learn and gain confidence as a mom. The mom / in law / parent relationship is a tricky one - we’re definitely not experts on this, but we are learning to set some important boundaries which we hope will help you on your own journeys. Save on the perfect gift by visiting AuraFrames.com to get $35-off Aura’s best-selling Carver Mat frames by using promo code MORETHANMOMS at checkout. • 33. D&A on their career journeys, identity shifts into motherhood and how More Than Moms began

    33:09||Season 1, Ep. 33
    So many of you have asked us to share more about our careers so here it is! Spoiler alert, we both work full-time and More Than Moms was started as a passion project to quench our longing for community as new moms. We discuss our careers post-college and how they morphed into what we do and who we are today. While we have had very different career paths, we’ve shared many common themes including embracing change, taking risks, evolving, pivoting, and starting before we were ready. We speak candidly about how motherhood shifted our careers, our struggles / identity crisis in motherhood and how ultimately, motherhood allowed us to really uncover and show up as our authentic self, creating more alignment in our lives. We dive into identity shifts, not letting our career ‘title’ identify who we are, and the many parts of our identity aside from motherhood - because if you’re a working mom or stay at home mom, we’re all more than moms.Instagram: @wearemorethanmomsPatreon: More Than Moms Guides & Resources Join our IRL LA communitySubscribe to our NewsletterProduced by Peoples Media
