#132 Jendella Benson Staying One Step Ahead

Season 5

Hello, and welcome to Wanna Be. The podcast takes you from where you are now to where you wanna be in 30 minutes or less.

I'm Imriel Morgan, Founder of Content is Queen, a podcast agency and community for ambitious podcasters. Thank you so much for taking the time to be here! Wanna Be's focus is to help you take consistent action to build a successful life and career in the creative and entertainment industry.

So I pulled together this season just before my baby girl arrived and changed my world. As always, my curiosity led the way when curating these conversations for Wanna Be. This season is no different, and while every guest is a parent, this isn't a parenting podcast, so expect the same significant practical steps to elevate your career.

Before we get to my special guest- Here is a short notice for any aspiring or current podcasters. If you're looking for a cosy and affordable professional studio space, head to contentisqueen.org to find out how you can use our studios to level up your podcast.

Now onto my incredible guest, Jendella Benson. I've known Jendella for about seven years and have followed her career path closely. Jendella is the author of Hope and Glory and the Head of Editorial at Black Ballad. Jendella has written for The Sunday Times Style Magazine, Metro Online and Independent Voices. She's also a TEDx speaker with a compelling and moving story.

In today's episode, Jendella shares what kept her interest in writing, how she made ends meet while trying to have a creative career as a parent, and shares some must-hear advice on work/life balance. Let's get into it.

It was lovely catching up with Jendella and hearing how she's settled into a career that she finds fulfilling and aligned with her goals and purpose. Get a copy of her debut fiction novel, Hope and Glory and follow her @Jendella on Twitter or Instagram.

Thank you so much for listening. I hope this half an hour has made you think, reflect and contemplate what your next step should be.

I want to encourage you to think about one person who would benefit from the messages shared today, and I'd love for you to share this episode with them right now! If you'd like to keep up with the latest episode releases, follow Wanna Be on your favourite podcast player and follow us on Instagram @contentisqueenhq.
