The event took place on April 5, 2020, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, continuing the two-night format with no fans in attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The main event featured Drew McIntyre defeating Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship, marking his first world title win. Braun Strowman’s Universal Championship win from Night 1 made this one of the few WrestleManias where both top men’s titles changed hands.Other title matches included Charlotte Flair defeating Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship and Bayley retaining the SmackDown Women’s Championship in a five-way elimination match against Sasha Banks, Lacey Evans, Naomi, and Tamina.Edge defeated Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match, which was one of the longest matches of the event. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt defeated John Cena in the Firefly Fun House Match, another cinematic-style match that focused heavily on storytelling and callbacks to Cena’s career.Additional results included Aleister Black defeating Bobby Lashley and Otis defeating Dolph Ziggler.Night 2 continued the unique, cinematic presentation style of WrestleMania 36 and closed the event with Drew McIntyre celebrating his championship win in an empty arena.

Becky Lynch retained the Raw Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler, and Sami Zayn retained the Intercontinental Championship against Daniel Bryan.Other matches included Kevin Owens defeating Seth Rollins in a No Disqualification match, John Morrison winning a triple threat ladder match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross winning the Women’s Tag Team Championships.The main event was the Boneyard Match between The Undertaker and AJ Styles, a cinematic-style match filmed off-site, which became one of the most talked-about parts of the event.
