Touching The Void - Play-Offs And 25/26 Season Review
01:09:58|The Mariners season came to an abrupt end in the cruellest of fashions on Friday night when a 117th minute extra-time winner for Salford saw them dumped out of the League Two play-off’s 4-3 on aggregate. Chris and the panel begin by dissecting both games, pin point key moments that helped decide the tie and debate whether David Artell’s decision to drop top goal-scorer Jaze Kabia to the bench for the second leg was the right one. In Part Two the guys take a look back at what will be remembered, once the dust settles, as Town’s most successful league campaign for two decades and the marked improvements from last season. They pick out some of the most defining and memorable moments from the last nine months and then look ahead to the imminent retained list announcement and our chances of success next season. Can the squad continue year on year improvement and achieve a top 6 finish or will the extra expectation weigh heavy? Join us again in August to find out!+++Hosted and prodcued by Chris Mills with guests Helen Walker, Steve Claybourn and George Mann.Donate to the Mariners Trust and Disabled Supporters Association Crowd Funder here - https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/new-wheelchair-viewing-areaSubscribe to our mailing list for weekly bonus content - https://mailchi.mp/41dfa5ea31ac/view-from-the-findus Order our first ever VFTF merchandise, a unisex t-shirt, via our website - https://viewfromthefindus.wordpress.comFollow us on X or Instagram; the handle for both is @VFTFindus or get in touch with the show via email - viewfromthefindus@gmail.com Intro music - "Weakness" by The Last Of The Wonder Kids - Listen on SpotifyOutro Music - "Hurt Then, Hurts Now" by Kid Spirit - Listen on Spotify Artwork - Alex Chilvers - https://alexchilvers.co.uk or @alexjchilversGraphics - Liam McLennanPhotography - Jon Corken+++

High As Hope
57:52|Town rounded off the regular season with a 1-1 draw at Tranmere, confirming a play-off semi-final against Salford. Matt and the panel look back at a thankfully uneventful afternoon with no more injuries, squad players given minutes and Justin Amaluzor continuing his return to form. Have he and Clarke Oduor played their way into unlikely starts in our biggest games of the season? In Part Two Danny from the “One Up Front” Salford City Blog joins the conversation to help preview that all important play-off bout with the Ammies. Might the disappointment of missing out on automatic promotion on final day weigh heavy on the Salford players, how is Karl Robinson likely to set-up over the two legs and which of the Town squad does Danny fear the most? See you on the other side!+++Hosted by Matt Dannatt with guests Jason Sadler, Charles Lumley and Danny Shepherd. Crest Of A Wave
57:23|Well, what were we worried about?! Town secure a League Two play-off place for the first time in two decades after a potentially season defining week and back-to-back wins against fellow promotion contenders Cambridge and Swindon. Chris and the panel begin by admiring two very different performances; one dogged and determined, the other relentless and confident but both with the same glorious outcome.Attentions then turn to individual stand out displays such as that of Cameron McJannet on Tuesday night and then Maldini Kacurri, Geza David Turi and hat-trick hero Jaze Kabia on Saturday. How important has squad rotation proven to be, how far could this new found form carry us and can we now finally afford ourselves a laugh at Ian Holloway’s expense? The guys then discuss the selection headache facing David Artell ahead of a final day trip to Tranmere, debate the pro’s and con’s of resting players and then wonder who we may need to fear in the play-offs... Or are we now the team others will fear?+++Hosted and prodcued by Chris Mills with guests Sam Allen and Adam Howard.Subscribe to our mailing list for weekly bonus content - https://mailchi.mp/41dfa5ea31ac/view-from-the-findus Order our first ever VFTF merchandise, a unisex t-shirt, via our website - https://viewfromthefindus.wordpress.comFollow us on X or Instagram; the handle for both is @VFTFindus or get in touch with the show via email - viewfromthefindus@gmail.com Intro music - "Weakness" by The Last Of The Wonder Kids - Listen on SpotifyOutro Music - "Hurt Then, Hurts Now" by Kid Spirit - Listen on Spotify Artwork - Alex Chilvers - https://alexchilvers.co.uk or @alexjchilversGraphics - Liam McLennanPhotography - Jon Corken+++
Time For Heroes
01:13:01|It was another nail-biting week for Grimsby fans as they saw their team lose at play-off rivals Chesterfield on Tuesday night but then respond with an emphatic 4-1 win at lowly Gillingham on Saturday to keep promotion dreams alive for a little longer yet. Host Steve Young and the panel dissect both games, wonder how costly yet another penalty miss might be and applaud the bouncebackability the squad continue to show when the chips are down. The guys then discuss Harvey Rodgers inclusion in the ‘League Two Team of the Year’ but consider the fact he might not even be in the conversation for the club’s own POTY next weekend with a lot of strong competition for the gong. And which strike do the panellists think will be the pick of the bunch for goal of the season? The episode is rounded off with a look ahead to an arguably season defining week and games against Cambridge and Swindon. Now That We're Here, We May As Well Go Too Far
01:04:16|It’s a jam-packed episode this week with lots for Chris and the panel to catch up with on and off the pitch. They start by looking back at the uninspiring Harrogate defeat on Good Friday before quickly turning attentions to the more positive performances against Crawley and Crewe which heralded six deserved points; could Clarke Odour still have an unlikely say on the outcome of Town’s season and how important could Andy Cook’s MOTM display be in the second of those aforementioned games? The guys then discuss several off field announcements from the past fortnight; the club’s published accounts from the 25/26 tax year, a new shirt sponsor in Blackrow Engineering and the price increase of the 26/27 season tickets. Are fans still getting value for money and should season ticket holders receive loyalty points to gain extra priority for away games? The gang round of the episode by previewing our mouth watering trip to immediate play-off rivals Chesterfield on Tuesday night and then also the trip to Gillingham next weekend, aided by Matt from the ‘Gills In The Blood’ YouTube channel. It’s a busy one, so grab a brew and settle in!+++Hosted and produced by Chris Mills with guests Helen Walker and Liam Wood.Subscribe to our mailing list for weekly bonus content - https://mailchi.mp/41dfa5ea31ac/view-from-the-findus Order our first ever VFTF merchandise, a unisex t-shirt, via our website - https://viewfromthefindus.wordpress.comFollow us on X or Instagram; the handle for both is @VFTFindus or get in touch with the show via email - viewfromthefindus@gmail.com Intro music - "Weakness" by The Last Of The Wonder Kids - Listen on SpotifyOutro Music - "Hurt Then, Hurts Now" by Kid Spirit - Listen on Spotify Artwork - Alex Chilvers - https://alexchilvers.co.uk or @alexjchilversGraphics - Liam McLennanPhotography - Jon Corken+++
Beginning Of The Twist
45:32|With no game to discuss this week thanks to the impromptu international break, Adam leads the panel on a preview of the run-in and Grimsby’s final eight games. What impact will injuries have? Which are the crucial fixtures and who will prove to be Town’s key players? With help from the “Fishy Predictor” the guys then have a go at guessing the final standings and it’s fair to say the discussion raises an eyebrow or two! They also react to the news Harvey Rodgers has signed a new two year deal with the club and our season preview guests Gab Sutton and Matt Dean return to give their valued opinion on how Town’s season may pan out. Whichever way you look at it, there are plenty of twists and turns still to come so strap in!+++Hosted by Adam Howard with guests Steve Claybourn and George Mann. Thunder Road
56:31|Grimsby have played a further three times since we last recorded so Chris and the panel waste no time examining the six points gained from a possible nine over the last week, keeping The Mariners in a play-off berth for now. Why were we so flat at Oldham? And despite winning both games, why did the score-lines against Fleetwood and Barrow perhaps not tell the full story? The guys then go on to discuss the untimely injuries to Charles Vernam and Evan Khouri and debate whether the impending international break will prove a help or a hinderance with just eight games left to play.+++Hosted and produced by Chris Mills with guests Paul Savage and Jason SadlerSubscribe to our mailing list for weekly bonus content - https://mailchi.mp/41dfa5ea31ac/view-from-the-findus Order our first ever VFTF merchandise, a unisex t-shirt, via our website - https://viewfromthefindus.wordpress.comFollow us on X or Instagram; the handle for both is @VFTFindus or get in touch with the show via email - viewfromthefindus@gmail.com Intro music - "Weakness" by The Last Of The Wonder Kids - Listen on SpotifyOutro Music - "Hurt Then, Hurts Now" by Kid Spirit - Listen on Spotify Artwork - Alex Chilvers - https://alexchilvers.co.uk or @alexjchilversGraphics - Liam McLennanPhotography - Jon Corken+++
