  • 25. Mothman

    01:16:54
For the final episode of this series we cautiously unbutton the oil covered dungarees of the Mothman. Do we like what we see or was this all a big mistake? Well listen to find out. We cant really figure out why it is so well known but the local town has made the most of it and we at Urbane Legends salute that every time. Also there is some AI positive chat, a payoff for a running joke no one finds funny and a call on anyone who listens to email any question for a mailbag episode. Otherwise we have to write all the questions ourselves again. 'urb.legends.podcast@gmail.com' and finally some news on the future output. Its been a ride
  • 24. Rendlesham Forrest Incident

    01:15:53
Well this week we come on to a subject that the Chris seemed to be very excited about, even suggesting it could be a two parter! Did it happen? Well the eagle eyed of you will see this is part one of one, its the Rendlesham Forrest UFO Incident, a very over hyped encounter. We find out that the BBC prefers to to talk to a woodsman than explain what their article is even about, get caught again by 'the sceptics of Wiki' and eventually find some stuff thats interesting. We also read out a script for last weeks podcast written by ChatGPT and we explain why we think some of the bad press around American investment wizz kid Scotter Altrium is unfair.

We asked a survey of 100 people what subject would they like to hear a podcast episode on urban legends about. The top answer was....Japanese toilet ghosts! We then asked for the 100 people to be replaced but by then, as they say, the die was cast. Yes this week we pop on over to Japan to look at a ghostly legend of the porcelain kind. Not porcine, thats different, try series one episode two 'Pigman'. This is a fairly thin legend so the guy have a lot of unrelated chat from Sir Bamber Topcat to Chris's new career as a cyberpunk novel writer. You could say they have become Paddington Bear, because they have padded a ton and both refuse to wear anything at all below the belly button.
  • 22. Dover Demon

    01:11:47
On this weeks thrilling instalment of Tintin we head back to the days of Disco in Dover Massachusetts, the most complicated to spell State, where several witnesses in short order all saw the same strange creature lurking about. Two drew it independently and the pictures matched. What was it? We dont know. Was it scary? Not really. Has it been seen since? Nope. So, you may ask, how do you get an hour and 10 pod out of that? Well, that why we're the best in the business.
  • 21. Redcaps

    01:09:07
On this historical British day for Britain, recorded mere minuets after an election has been called for the 4th July (thats right US listeners, we have 6 weeks build up, must sound like a dream to you) we discuss both the political news as you demand from us as the internets most hot takey political podcast AND the vehemently non-political Redcaps (thought maybe a bit) a terrifying Goblin from the Anglo Scottish boarders. Physically pretty intimidating, a weapon carrier with a need for blood for survival this aint no cheeky trickster, its a hard Scottish bastard.
  • 20. Hodag

    01:21:36
A lot of people say 'better late than never' but im not hear to tell you how to think, so simply here is the episode and its late. This week we look at the biggest thing to come out of Wisconsin since Opra Winfrey the Hodag. Its over 125 years old and is a true story of the pioneer spirit, strip logging and one mans business acumen. Also Chris discusses a new career in espionage, Neil finds out why Sienfeld is harder than it looks with lanyard chat and there is another nail biting game of Weel or Fake
  • 19. Sad Satan

    01:01:09
This week we delve into the area of computers known mysteriously as the 'Dark Webs', well we dont obviously but someone might of, to the legendry game called 'Sad Satan'. Now you may think by the title that Satan or Ol' Nick as I know him, would feature heavily or have some kind of basic involvement. Well you may well be wrong there as we're we but two worse character turn up at some point. It's a corridor simulator basically and reminds me of a lot of games I have bought on Steam which were early access but turned out to be a cash grab (Bum Simulator, im looking at you).More importantly we have a look at a brilliant book created by an occasional and uber talented listener to the pod and advise you to do the same. His name is Peter Dobbin. He self published it and it was a labour of love but more importantly its genuine quality Here is a link to it: https://mythical-monsters.co.uk/bookHere's a video about it: https://youtu.be/qVD2iPDLLSQAnd here's where you can buy it on Amazon: https://amzn.eu/d/3aIKIDNand Waterstones: https://www.waterstones.com/book/mythical-monster-stories/peter-dobbin/9781399958608
  • 18. Letta the Doll

    57:48
Yes indeed! It's our annual look at a haunted doll. With each year the story gets thinner BUT this one was taken to psychics for analysis so the science is there. It's Australia's next Hollywood star and is sure to eclipse Scarlett Johanson, Russel Crow and Jim Crocodile 'Dundee' (not many people know his name was Jim Crocodile, the 'Dundee' part was the nickname due to his love of the Scottish football team of the same name). If you can get to Walla walla you can have a photo with the haunted toy for 5 buckeroos. There might be some filler as well
  • 17. Skinwalkers

    01:08:32
This week the podcast and the people who speak on it look at the strange world of the Skinwalkers. They are an ancient and malevolent creature, are they still man or are they now beast? Or, like most of us, a little of both. They have been connected with all kinds of other paranormal activity and became a weird trend on Tictok during the pandemic when we were all 100% in our strongest mental place. We attempt to treat the topic with required respect but are self aware enough to know we more than likely haven't. There is other stuff but I cant remember. Enjoy!
