Korean punk rockers Jiwon and Jina of Billy Carter talk to us about life in Korea as female musicians.

We sat down with Jiwon and Jina of an AWESOME band that caught our attention over the summer - Billy Carter. Vocalist Phulee talks to us about growing up in Northeastern India and finding her way to hardcore and punk.

In our eight episode of the Unite Asia Podcast, we talk to Phulee the vocalist of Indian hardcore band Retromist. She hails from the Northeastern region of India and is very candid and vocal about racism that the people of the Northeast suffer from in India. In our seventh episode of the Unite Asia Podcast, we sit down with the vocalist of Pakistani grindcore band Multinational Corporations as he takes us through how he got into heavy music (metal to hardcore punk) on the streets of Lahore. Super enlightening to chat with another Pakistani and hear how different our upbringings were (He is a Pakistani who grew up in Pakistan, while I'm a Pakistani who grew up in Hong Kong). In our fifth episode of the Unite Asia Podcast, we welcome who is absolutely at "legendary" status in our eyes. We invited the hilarious Aca, vocalist of legendary Indonesian hardcore band Straight Answer formed in 1996. He has a wealth of life experiences to share with the world including how a dude in Jakarta found his way to punk rock and then starting his band Straight Answer to years later running a store that is his bread and butter. He even was open enough to talk about a massive health scare that happened 4 years ago that required multiple surgeries including the removal of part of his skull - thus why he wears a helmet on stage when he performs.

In our third episode of the Unite Asia Podcast, we talk to Mel, bassist of Singapore based sludge metal act HRVST and the mastermind behind Green Spell apparel line. We talk about how a kid in Singapore got into hardcore but also then veer into conversation about the horrible accident that took place year that has left this creative genius paralyzed from the neck down.
