Ugly Pulp Odyssey

Following on from our previous bonus episode (our top 3 best actors) becoming the most listened to podcast episode of all time, we return to talk about our favourite "Best Actress" winners at the Oscars!

The film that defined a genre and style, and has become synonymous with the term "Rockumentary", Rob Reiner's infinitely influential 1984 film practically wrote the book on spoof musicals and crossed over into pop culture in a way that arguably no other musical film has since. Let's find out what we make of it.

Now available on Netflix, we decided it was a good time to revisit Scorsese's 2006 crime thriller The Departed. With its star-studded cast and over-the-top performances it scooped four oscars including Best Picture and Best Director - but how does it hold up now?
