‘We don’t feel safe’: Inside Piddington’s migrant revolt

In today’s edition of The Daily T, Camilla Tominey and Jacob Rees-Mogg are joined by Tim McNally, the chairman of Piddington parish council, who explains why he is going for the “political jugular” by holding a symbolic referendum on the village leaving the UK.
He says the Government’s proposals to house more than 1,200 migrants in the Oxfordshire village has prompted residents to plan to take self-defence classes and install a CCTV and an emergency alert system. Plus, Jacob explains why he feels that some of the residents have brought this problem on themselves.
Elsewhere, Camilla sits down with Lucy Letby’s barrister, Mark McDonald, following the release of Lady Justice Thirlwall’s Inquiry report into the safety failings at the Countess of Chester Hospital. He argues the inquiry was flawed from the start because it refused to question Letby’s convictions, relied on prosecution narrative hypotheses, and denied Letby the opportunity to participate as a core witness.
