EP 15 - Medicine, art and managing your mental health with Sutra
49:42|With Mental Health in the black community being so close to my heart, it was important for me to have this conversation with the phenomenal being that is Sutra. Sutra is the founder of the platform that is making vulnerability cool again, Poll Therapy (instagram.com/polltherapy). Doctor by profession, artist by nature (including music and literary work) Sutra boldly revels in being many things - and does it with grace. In episode 15, we sat down during Mental Health Awareness week to have an honest conversation around experiencing a loss of joy. How a close dance with death changed everything and the role of art and faith in her own healing process. We talk about discovering her creative voice in medical school. And delving deeper into topics within Sutra’s debut book “Marrow”, we unpack identity and what home looks like for Ghana-raised Sutra.
