The bois watch a Christmas Classic that Derek has loved forever and Keenan had never seen. Merry Christmas or whatever!

The last "of the Dead" film in legendary director George A. Romero's filmography, and it sure does exist. There's a lot of good things, a few bad things, and there's definitely some stuff to say about it.

Found footage, meta story, college kids, a drunk professor, a deaf Amish man, some military guys, it's all wrapped in a mediocre script and being eaten by zombies. Let's go!

Starring John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper, this is the first 'of the Dead' of the 2000's. This movie brings us a post apocalyptic future society divided by class and ruled by a rich guy in a red tie. A turning point in the franchise, George A. Romero's Land of the Dead is a unique entry where the biggest threat to humanity isn't the zombies, it's other people.

This is the good one, or, Keenan's favorite anyway. So expect a balanced, unbiased, review, obviously. Derek hadn't seen it before, so that's always fun. Day of the Dead is George A. Romero's third 'of the Dead' film, and while being very 80's, it is quite good, as well. Social commentary, interesting characters, gore and a young Greg Nicotero, hard to see anything wrong with this one!

Alright, we know, this is the only one that's a remake, but hey, it's really good, and the bois struggled through all the Resident Evil films, just let them have this, alright? Directed by Zach Snider, written by George A. Romero and rewritten by James Gunn, this is not only the epitome of zombie movies from the bois's youths, it's also the epitome of an early 2000's action film. So many tropes, so many classic tropes.

The first, the original, The Zombie Movie, Night of the Living Dead! George A. Romero's seminal original obviously doesn't belong on this feed, but it's part of the Residency of the Dead series we're doing for Halloween time! Just wait until the last couple "of the Dead" films if you want it real bad. Keenan and Derek had a good time with this one, they're sure you will, too!

Did I love the rest of these movies? For the most part, no. Was this an entirely different level of suck I was not ready for? Yes, yes it was. I still can't believe this is a real film, that really got made, and was really, actually, supposed to end a franchise a decade and a half in the making. No pretense, no faking, this one is so bad. Dr. Isaacs is back, Alice is there, and so is Alice, and Alice, too, not to mention some nameless folks who die, and then there's an easy solution. The end.
