My Hair Is Failing. Here's How Far I'd Go.

Okay, so I went down the rabbit hole. Several of them, actually.

When your hair starts changing and nobody can tell you exactly why, you start Googling at midnight and suddenly you're three deep into things you never thought you'd consider. Some medical, some natural, and one that honestly kind of shocked me that it's even an option.

I'm laying it all out: What I found, what scared me, what I'm actually thinking about doing. No, I don't have it all figured out. But I'm not doing this quietly, and I'm not doing it alone.

If your hair's been keeping secrets from you too, come sit with me. Thank you for watching, always. — Kim

  • The Hair Trauma a Lot of Us Don't Talk About ft. Tanya Darkwah-Blunt

    54:53|
I met Tanya on her wedding day, and we've been talking ever since. So I finally brought her to the mic. This one goes deeper than hair. We get into growing up with immigrant parents, the messages we pick up as little girls about what's "good enough," and why she's worn her hair a certain way for most of her life. It's honest, it's real, and it's a conversation a lot of us need to hear. She's a nurse, a mom, and one of my favorite people to sit with. Come hang out with us. • My Hair Turned On Me (And I'm a Hairstylist)

    07:36|
Well, it finally happened. The one person whose hair should behave… mine doesn't. And I've officially run out of ideas.I did everything right. Saw the doctor, ran the tests, got the answers. And then I made a choice I'd scold any client for making. I'll explain, and no, I'm not proud of it.There's a big change coming this summer. A drastic one. I'll take you with me when it happens. But first I want to hear from you, especially if your hair started acting like a stranger too.Thank you for watching, always. • Were the Good Old Days Actually That Good?

    10:24|
Everybody keeps saying things were better back then. And I keep wondering… were they? Or were we just younger?I got to thinking about it this week and went digging through my own memories. The first cars, the first apartment, walking home from school with a key around my neck. Some of it holds up. Some of it really, really doesn't.But there's one thing I'll say is better today, and I bet you can guess which industry I'm talking about.Thank you for watching, always. • Does Your Hair Control Your Vacation? | A Stylist's Take

    12:28|
Little confession: I recorded this one poolside in Cabo, still on vacation and still very much not off the clock. Because even by the water with a book and a card game, these hairdresser eyes were watching everybody's hair. It's a sickness. I've made peace with it.This one was fun. • When Did Beauty Become a Full-Time Job?

    06:29|
Friday, red folder, and I'm landing this plane.I've spent all week wondering why natural stopped being normal. Here's where I ended up: somewhere along the way, your appearance turned into a whole second job. Hair, lashes, brows, nails, injectables, the calendar never ends. And I'm not throwing stones. I'm on that calendar too.But it made me ask something I can't shake. When did beauty become something we maintain instead of something we just… did?I've got a theory about where this is actually headed, and it's not what you'd think.Wrapping up the trilogy. Watch parts one and two if you missed them, then tell me below: more maintenance, or just more choices? - Kim🛍️ Shop Virtue Labs through my link:https://www.virtuelabs.com/en/stylist/Kim-Allison✅ Subscribe for more conversations with the voices reshaping the beauty industry.Click Here For More Info: https://linktr.ee/TrendywithKimAllison– Listen on Spotify, Apple, and all podcast platforms.– Follow @trendywkimallison on Instagram and TikTok.
