This Side of the Hill
43 - Best Actors Unite, Beckhams Divide & Apologies to Steve Buscemi
This week Jared and Jason are catching up while Janet is in Mexico catching a tan and devouring tacos. The two talk about taking baby Cam to a toddler house party and the chaos of trying to keep routines intact when mom’s away. Jared admits he’s much more comfortable as an uncle than a parent because sleep is sacred.
Awards season takes center stage with Jared breaking down the best actor race, including his strong feelings about Timothée Chalamet, his love for Michael B Jordan, and why he thinks Leonardo DiCaprio deserves the crown this year. They also get into how awards shows always seem to expose unexpected celebrity couples, and this year is no exception. The pair ponder if it's the end of the movie star era or if a young crop of actors can revive the cinematic experience.
The conversation shifts to the ever circulating Beckham family drama, which opens the door to British tabloid culture, nepotism, and the surprisingly complex challenge of photographing an elephant. Jared shares his big win scoring tickets for the Paris Hilton documentary screening, and Jason wraps things up sharing what he's currently a fan of, and yes, it's Lisa Barlow lore.
