Charlie Sloth is a DJ/Producer/Broadcaster/Entrepreneur from London. He hosts Drive Time on BBC Radio 1xtra and The Rap Show on BBC Radio 1. He tours the world as a live DJ and has just released a new album ‘The Plug’ featuring the likes of Giggs, Ghetts, Jadakiss and Bugzy Malone.
As one of the first breakout YouTubers in the UK with his series ‘Being Charlie Sloth’, Charlie went from being a broke single parent living in a garden shed to owning global businesses (Vape, Vodka) and being THE guy that both UK and US urban artists ask for when they come to town.
Sloth talks for the first time about his family, and his decision not to take the money and run when LA came calling.

As a pioneer in the urban scene, Trevor started his broadcasting career at then pirate station Kiss FM going onto A&R artists such as D’Angelo and Lynden David Hall. In 1996, Trevor moved to BBC Radio 1 to present the first ever national RNB show ‘The Rhythm Nation’, presenting the Saturday slot 7-9pm for a further 17 years. 1998, Trevor joined MTV to devise, develop and host their flagship R&B show ‘The Lick’. The show aired for 11 years on MTV Base making it the longest running show on the channel. In that time Trevor hosted the first ever MTV Africa Awards from Abuja, Nigeria. He has released 10 compilation albums, won numerous plaudits including 4 MOBOS, and an MBE for his work with the millennium volunteers. In 2010 he was awarded the special gold lifetime achievement award for his services to broadcasting at the Sony Radio Academy Awards. Trevor currently broadcasts across 2 radio networks: Weekends on 1Xtra Saturday-Sunday 4pm-7pm and on Radio 2 Trevor Nelson’s Rhythm Nation every Saturday 8pm-10pm. Together they host the award-winning daily KISS breakfast radio show with Charlie Hedges. On TV Melvin has appeared on MTV (Digs), BBC (Strictly Come Dancing, Big Ben Live, Sweat The Small Stuff), ITV (Bang On The Money, Xtra Factor, MOBO Awards), Channel 4 (Lego Masters), 4 Music, Sky 1 and many more. Early mornings are not alien to Melvin — as a staple for the CBBC audience, Melvin was presenting Swap Shop with Basil Brush in 2008 on Saturday mornings, alongside his days of playing various characters for the long running and BAFTA award winning Dick and Dom in the Bungalow. In fact, CBBC’s spin off show Slammer, which also won a BAFTA in 2007, would not have been complete without Melvin’s theatrical talents as a desperate inmate trying to escape.
