  • 166. Words As Weapons

    14:19||Season 1, Ep. 166
    What if the weapons formed against you aren’t physical? What if they’re words? Words spoken behind your back. False accusations. Slander. Betrayal. Judgment. Words meant to damage your reputation, break your confidence, destroy relationships, and make you question who you are and what God has called you to be. Scripture tells us that “death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Our words can heal or wound, bless or curse, encourage or condemn. And sometimes, the deepest attacks come through the mouths of people we trusted most. In this episode of The Ed Fernandez Show, Ed explores Isaiah 54:17—“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn”—and reveals how the tongue itself can become a weapon. But there’s another side to this promise. The weapon may be formed. The accusations may come. The valley may become dark. But that does not mean the enemy has won. Through Isaiah 54, Psalm 23, Psalm 57, Proverbs 18, and the words of Jesus, Ed explores the power of our words, the responsibility we carry for what we speak, and what it means to remain under the protection of God when the attacks seem relentless. A shadow can look terrifying—but a shadow only exists because something is standing between you and the light. Maybe the question isn’t whether you’re walking through the valley. Maybe it’s "what’s blocking the light?" If you’ve ever felt misunderstood, betrayed, falsely accused, abandoned, or attacked by the words of others, this episode is for you. The weapon may be formed. But it will not prosper.

  • 165. God Is Mindful Of You

    12:54||Season 1, Ep. 165
    Have you ever wondered, “God, are You really here? Do You hear me? Do I truly matter to You?”In this episode of The Ed Fernandez Show, Ed explores one of the most powerful truths found throughout Scripture: God is mindful of YOU.The same God who created everything seen and unseen knows you personally. He sees your struggles, your fears, your pain, and the battles you face—and He cares about every part of your life.Through passages from Psalms, Job, and Isaiah, Ed breaks down what it means for God to be “mindful” of us and how understanding our identity in Him can transform the way we see ourselves. He also discusses the impact of unresolved trauma, renewing the mind through God’s Word, and learning to see ourselves the way God sees us.Life in a fallen world can be difficult. We enter the battlefield every single day carrying struggles, doubts, failures, and wounds. But we were never meant to fight alone. When we recognize God’s faithfulness and remember how deeply He cares for us, thanksgiving becomes more than gratitude—it becomes a weapon.You are not forgotten. You are not overlooked. You are known, remembered, loved, and cared for by God.Whatever you may be walking through today, be encouraged: God is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.The struggle is real—but you’re not facing it alone.Subscribe to The Ed Fernandez Show, share this episode with someone who needs encouragement, and turn on notifications for future episodes.
  • 164. Obedience As Sacrifice

    16:49||Season 1, Ep. 164
    What happens when God tells you to wait, but everything around you is telling you to act? When circumstances become overwhelming, fear takes hold, and the pressure to take matters into your own hands feels impossible to resist, will you trust God's timing or your own understanding?In this episode of The Ed Fernandez Show, Ed explores the deeper meaning of obedience through the story of King Saul in 1 Samuel. Although Saul was instructed to wait for Samuel, the pressure of his circumstances led him to act outside of God's instruction. His sacrifice appeared to represent complete surrender, yet his actions revealed an unwillingness to surrender his own will.Through Scripture, personal testimony, and powerful reflections on faith, Ed challenges us to recognize that true obedience comes at a price. It requires surrendering our desires, comfort, pride, fears, and need for control, even when we cannot understand what God is doing behind the scenes.Ed also shares a recent personal experience in which God called him to sow a seed of faith while facing circumstances that only a miracle could change. His testimony serves as a reminder that obedience does not always come with an explanation, but it can bring peace, confidence, and a deeper trust in God's faithfulness.Drawing from 1 Samuel, 2 Corinthians, James, Luke, Romans, and Psalms, this episode explores the difference between choosing obedience willingly and allowing disobedience to lead us through unnecessary trials and delays.There is a price to obedience, and there is a price to disobedience. The difference is whether you are walking in the will of God or outside of it.If God has been calling you to take a step of faith, surrender something you've been holding onto, or trust Him in a situation you cannot control, this message is for you.Don't allow fear, circumstances, or the opinions of others to determine your next move. Walk by faith, not by sight. Trust God's timing, surrender your will, and choose obedience today.Subscribe to The Ed Fernandez Show for more conversations about faith, spiritual growth, biblical wisdom, and learning to trust God through every season of life.
  • 163. Strength In Weakness

    22:30||Season 1, Ep. 163
    Have you ever reached a point where you know what needs to be done, but you feel too weak, insecure, or uncertain to move forward?In this episode of The Ed Fernandez Show, Ed explores what it really means to feel weak—and why weakness doesn’t have to determine the outcome of your life. From physical limitations and emotional vulnerability to fear, insecurity, trauma, and the feeling that you simply don’t have what it takes, Ed examines weakness through the lens of Scripture and the condition of the inner man.Drawing from Jeremiah 17, Ezekiel 36, Proverbs 23, Proverbs 4, and Joel 3, Ed breaks down the biblical concept of the heart and explains why renewing your mind involves more than simply changing your conscious thoughts. What is buried beneath the surface—our beliefs, wounds, desires, fears, habits, and past experiences—can shape how we think, react, and live.Ed also shares a personal experience in which an old trigger resurfaced and gave him an opportunity to see just how much God had changed him. What once might have produced an automatic reaction became evidence of growth, leading to a powerful realization: biblical strength isn’t always about feeling powerful. Sometimes strength is continuing to trust and obey God while you still feel weak.The conversation also explores trauma, the subconscious mind, professional mental-health support, and Ed’s personal experience with ibogaine treatment in Mexico. He discusses why he pursued the treatment, what he believes it revealed about his inner life, and research he encountered involving special operations veterans with histories of traumatic brain injury. Ed emphasizes that his experience and interpretation are personal, that he is not a doctor, and that anyone considering such treatment should conduct their own research and seek appropriate guidance.Ultimately, this episode is about looking beneath the surface. What are you hiding from? What keeps triggering the same reactions? What beliefs about yourself have quietly shaped your life for years?Feeling weak may be part of living in a fallen world, but weakness does not have to write your story. When you begin confronting what is happening within you, renewing your mind, trusting God, and choosing a different path, weakness can become an opportunity for transformation.Thank you for watching The Ed Fernandez Show. • 162. Humble Yourself

    18:24||Season 1, Ep. 162
    What if humility isn’t something you’re supposed to wait for God to teach you—but something you’re supposed to choose?In this episode of The Ed Fernandez Show, Ed shares a deeply personal experience that marked the beginning of a new spiritual journey. What began as an unexpected vision of the ancient Hebrew letter Chet—the eighth letter of the Hebrew alphabet and a symbol connected to new beginnings—became a call to examine how deliberately he was living his life.It’s easy to coast. You can be successful, lead a family, build a business, serve others, and even speak about God while still allowing pride, resentment, unforgiveness, and complacency to quietly remain beneath the surface.But spiritual maturity isn’t measured by influence, accomplishments, or even how much Scripture you know. It’s revealed through obedience, humility, repentance, forgiveness, gratitude, self-control, and the ability to receive correction.Jesus voluntarily humbled Himself in obedience to the Father. King Nebuchadnezzar chose the opposite path—exalting himself until God brought him low.The lesson is simple but challenging:Humility is coming either way. The question is whether you will humble yourself or wait until God has to humble you.Ed explores what it means to deliberately take the lower position, especially as a husband, father, leader, and person of influence. True leadership isn’t about what you believe you deserve. It’s about what you are willing to give.This episode is an invitation to look inward and ask:Where in my life do I already know I need to humble myself?And instead of waiting for circumstances to force the change—what would happen if I chose it voluntarily?Because when we stop trying to elevate ourselves and allow God to determine our position, we make room for Him to do the lifting.Humble yourself before the humbling comes.
  • 161. Money And The Marketplace

    23:54||Season 1, Ep. 161
    What if money is more spiritual than we realize?In this episode of The Ed Fernandez Show, Ed breaks down the biblical concept of “unrighteous mammon” and explores the role money, wealth, business, and the marketplace play in the battle between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness.Money itself can become a powerful tool for greed, corruption, pride, and destruction—but what happens when a follower of Christ enters the marketplace, remains faithful to God, and uses wealth for His purposes?Drawing from Luke 16, Genesis 3, 1 Timothy 6, and Revelation, Ed explains why the way we handle money can reveal the condition of our hearts. He shares lessons from his own experience with success, material possessions, pride, and learning that having wealth is very different from allowing wealth to have you.This episode is also a challenge to Christian entrepreneurs, business owners, and anyone called into the marketplace: prepare yourself before asking God to increase your influence. Greater wealth and greater opportunity can also bring greater temptation. Character, purity, obedience, and faithfulness matter.The goal isn’t simply to make more money. It’s to understand what God has entrusted to you and use your resources, influence, business, and opportunities to advance His Kingdom.You don’t have to live a perfect life—but you should pursue a pure one.The battlefield is here. The opportunity is now. What role are you called to play?If this episode speaks to you, share it with someone who needs to hear it, subscribe to the channel, and turn on notifications for new episodes of The Ed Fernandez Show.
  • 160. Letting Go Of Resentment

    16:57||Season 1, Ep. 160
    What does it really mean when Scripture says that love “keeps no record of wrongs”?In this episode of The Ed Fernandez Show, Ed shares a personal lesson God revealed to him through a simple but challenging statement: “Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.”After finding himself in a situation where he had every reason—and even the evidence—to prove that someone had wronged him, Ed was confronted with the deeper meaning of biblical love and forgiveness. Through 1 Corinthians 13:4–8 and the original Greek and Hebrew meanings behind words like logizomai, ahava, and chesed, he explores why genuine love refuses to maintain a mental ledger of offenses.Forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending the hurt never happened. It doesn’t even mean forgetting what someone did. It means choosing not to continually use the past as a debt against them.Ed also examines how keeping score can turn unresolved anger into resentment and bitterness, and why extending mercy may be one of the clearest demonstrations of Christ living through us.Following Jesus isn’t about proving that we’re right. Sometimes the greater act of strength is having every opportunity to defend ourselves, expose the wrong, or settle the score—and choosing mercy instead.Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.Subscribe to The Ed Fernandez Show, share this episode with someone who needs to hear it, and join us as we continue learning what it means to live differently from the world and become more like Jesus.
