Trump unhappy at Fed rate rise; Russia pounds Ukraine, and more

The Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage points, to 3.75-4%, the central bank’s first increase since July 2023. Also, Russia pounded Kyiv and other cities overnight, after America’s House of Representatives passed legislation that will allow Mr Trump to impose more stringent sanctions and tariffs to punish Russia.
