An Israeli negotiating team travelled to Qatar for indirect talks with Hamas about a possible ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages held in the enclave. Also, America’s treasury secretary, Scott Bessent, said countries that fail to secure trade agreements with America would see tariffs “boomerang” back to higher rates on August 1st.
