  • 8. Birth Trauma At Home: It DOES exist!

    01:09:12||Ep. 8
    If I've said it once I've said it (and will keep saying it) a thousand times: BIRTH IS AS SAFE AS BIRTH CAN BE. And majority of the time, it goes off without a hitch! But what about those of us with different stories? What about those of us who are the rare exceptions? We who's experiences are denied in order to try and save face within the birth community? Let's be REAL about birth: TRAUMA CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE! And we aren't doing this sister wound any favors by silencing, shaming and blaming those of us who do experience birth trauma at home. Thoughts on this and the birth story of our son, Dexten <3

But the person I am today is here to own those mistakes, hold myself accountable for them and offer my children the tools needed to end the perpetual trauma handed down through our lineage. Featuring a hidden bonus track LOL remember those?? Let's say goodbye to what no longer serves us and hello to continued health, happiness, peace and FUNCTIONAL PARENTING in the new year!

  • 4. The Big "O"

    42:52||Ep. 4
    The big "O" that no one ever wants to talk about- OBLIGATION. In this episode I discuss three big issues- obligation, responsibility and ownership. How they apply to birth work as well as the overall birth experience, explore why we seem so reluctant to apply them to ourselves and how to move past this false and often misplaced sense of responsibility for that which is out of our control. You can find the link to Maryn Green's podcast "When The Midwife Is Blamed" below and I sincerely hope you give it a listen <3https://indiebirth.org/when-the-midwife-is-blamed/
  • 3. Her Cries on Deaf Ears

    55:35||Ep. 3
    Sometimes they don't hear you because of who/what they think you are, sometimes- they just don't listen. This episode looks at some of the ways women are not heard through out their childbearing experiences and exposes the importance of self education and discovering your OWN power, instead of relinquishing it to a care provider. An emotional reflection of my first two pregnancies and births. Inspired by an IG reel by Flor @Badassmotherbirther.
