The Art of Resistance
e.322 - A Knapsack Full of Dreams: Memoirs of a Street Nurse ft. Cathy Crowe
We get an advance-look at Cathy Crowe’s new book “A Knapsack Full of Dreams: Memoirs of a Street Nurse” coming out August 27th. Cathy has worked as a street nurse and activist in Toronto’s downtown east side since 1988. She is an educator and anti-poverty activist in the city. Her new book covers both her front-line work as a street nurse as well as her history of political advocacy and how the fight against Toronto's housing and shelter crisis has changed over time.
She joins us from CIUT studios at the University of Toronto to share her experience and what she’s learned over three decades of front-line work.
