Episode 72: How One Florida Idea Deepened Our Marriage (and Made Us Laugh)

What started as a fun idea in Florida turned into a social media video… and now a full podcast episode!

In this episode, Joe and I share one of our favorite date night ideas—asking each other intentional, funny, and sometimes surprising questions. This simple practice has helped us connect deeper, laugh harder, and learn things about each other we didn’t even realize we didn’t know.

Whether you’re newly married, dating, or years into marriage, this episode will give you easy questions to ask, prompts to spark meaningful conversation, and permission to keep things light and fun. Grab your spouse, press play, and prepare to laugh.

🏡 Homework Assignment: The Question Game Date Night

Schedule a mini date night (at home, on a walk, or in the car—no pressure, no fancy plans required).

Each of you write down 5–10 questions to ask the other. Mix fun and meaningful. Try prompts like:

  • What’s a moment you felt most connected to me this year?
  • What’s something silly you still think about?
  • If we had a free weekend with no responsibilities, what would you want to do together?
  • What’s one habit you want to build as a couple?

Bonus reflection: After your date, journal or share with a friend one thing you learned and one thing you want to celebrate about your relationship!

  • Episode 73: What Pastor Joel Wishes He Knew at 20: How Money Works and How People Grow

    07:11|
Have you ever dreamed of hearing what a pastor wished he would have known when he was 20? You're in luck! Host Emily brings on her church's lead pastor, Joel, to share two skills to learn as early as possible: how money works and how to grow spiritually (or how to develop your character). Both of these are exponential in their impact. If you understand how money works early, you make wiser decisions, you invest sooner, and over time it buys back one of your most valuable resources — time. And in the same way, when you learn how to pursue spiritual formation and character growth early, it compounds into healthier relationships, greater effectiveness in your calling, and a deeper sense of joy and contentment in life. There really aren’t two areas that shape the trajectory of a person’s life more than these.Join us for a conversation with Joel's story — what he didn’t understand when he was younger, what he wishes someone had told him, and some practical pathways for growth in both areas. Please help us share this message! • Episode 69: What Not to Do When You Want Growth (And How I Accidentally Unlocked New Leadership)

    09:28|
In this episode, I share a wake-up moment from our team gratitude call in December of 2025 that reminded me I needed to practice what I preach and share my story louder!I dive into my journey: struggling to do it all on my own, wanting success more for others than for myself, and feeling the frustration when my income dipped but my hustle didn’t. Watching others pause, embrace their humanity, and share what they love inspired me to make a change.Through leaning into prayer — yes, the cupboard prayer — and letting go, I experienced a breakthrough: hitting a leadership level that seemed impossible while actually resting on the weekends! This wasn’t luck — it was the power of consistent faith and letting third-party credibility help paint the vision. Now, I’m on a mission to help others see that consistency, faith, and sharing their story can transform both their business and their life — all while keeping God at the center.Tune in for encouragement, practical insight, and a reminder that rest + faith can truly move the needle. And, after today's homework, you'll need extra encouragement from Episode 43. • Episode 66: I Took My Longest Vacation Ever — Here’s What I Learned

    09:43|
If you’ve ever felt stuck in the cycle of work, routines, appointments, responsibilities, repeat — this episode is your reminder that life can be different.Joe and I just took our longest vacation ever… and it completely shifted how we see time, adventure, and what we actually want our life to look like! We never expected this feeling; we thought we'd be "ready to come home" like usual on vacation after a few days. From seeing sloths up close (I wanted to snuggle them and bring them home 😂), to driving a golf cart straight onto the beach, to conversations with people that we’ll never forget… this trip showed us what slowing down really feels like. And then we stepped into the incentive trip we earned — a luxury Secrets experience we never would’ve booked on our own but now get to enjoy every single year because we said YES to an opportunity to simply be cheerleaders for each other and our world. If you’re craving more freedom, more fun, more memories, and a life that doesn’t leave you exhausted… this episode might spark something you didn’t know you needed! PS- thanks to my friend Vikki for the SWEETEST gift, these sunglasses!  Visit episode 50 for a great story about incentive trips, and episode 54 to learn how we afford vacations!
