  • 51. Episode 51 Where’s the BEEF?!

    01:18:44||Season 2, Ep. 51
    In this weeks episode we explore the art of the diss track. We go back in music disstory to locate the origin of where the beef within music began. We begin with Mozart and end with BBL Drizzy . We  travel to Brazil in the 1930s and find the first recorded beef record by Silvio Caldas. We dissect Beef between John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Lee Scratch Perry, Queen,Carley Simon, UTFO, Roxanne Shante, MC Shan, BBP, Ice Cube, Dr Dre,Eazy E, Tupac, BIG, LL Cool J, Canibus, Jay Z & Nas, 50 Cent, Foo Fighters, Gwen Stefani, Lauryn Hill, Eminem, Drake & Kendrick. Lamar.  We learn why beef is bad and it’s better just to be friends.Essentially diss tracks are just two grown ass adults writing violent and disrespectful poetry about each other.  -Definition of a diss track?-  a song whose primary purpose is to verbally attack someone else, usually another artist. Diss tracks are often the result of an existing, escalating feud between the two people; for example, the artists involved may be former members of a group, or artists on rival labels. And who knows more about fueding and having beef than the Israelis themselves.So today we will give you a disstory lesson. A lesson that begins From as far back as the late 1700s right up to the A-eye- Drake diss song BBL Drizzy released this year.  We will not be playing songs in their entirety for the simple fact that we will be discussing the tracks today instead of creating a vibe.    It’s a great lesson in disstory , it’s ad free and it’s right there with a click of a button at your fingertips, just click play and your lesson will begin. So who wants BEEF?
