Davo Johnson: Three Years Out (Part One)
In this episode of the TT Podcast, Australian rider turned commentator Davo Johnson tells Chris and Steve about his career so far.
Davo tells the guys about the first time he watched the Isle of Man TT, and how he thought any suggestion that he might one day race on those roads was ridiculous. Fast forward to today, and he’s competed at nine TTs, including for the factory Honda team in 2019 where he recorded his first podium.
After injury put paid to him entering the 2022 races, he joined the commentary team on the live TT coverage and tells Chris and Steve how he found the experience.Davo shares his first experiences of riding on two wheels, and explains why he made the move from Australia to the UK at the age of 18 to pursue motorsport.
The guys discuss Davo’s short circuit career, and find out why he made the decision to ride in his first TT in 2010. He tells the guys about his first experiences riding the Mountain Course - including the famed newcomers trips!
