You’re training around the problem and not addressing it - EP | 93

Ep. 93

How you move is the foundation of your training. Yet most people wait until they are screaming in pain before they take action to work on moving better.

If there is one thing that you should focus on in the next 30 days, it is making sure you have the mobility to access the positions you train. Do this as frequently as you can and watch everything else improve.

If you have any question or need some help navigating an injury and training, you can reach me directly on Instagram @tommybrideson.

    15:25||Ep. 94
    This weeks episode is all about improving your flexibility and mobility. If you want to improve how you move you need to prioritise it during your training week like everything else. Often movement is a bolt on after the fact when you end up in pain or have an injury. But how you move dictates how you train and your ability to do so efficiently so it needs to be part of your long term plan. On this, warming up is only improving your session ahead so dont get warming up and improving your actual movement confused!With a bit of work towards not just training outcomes but how you move, training results will actually improve. Lower back pain can be such a vague diagnosis and can be really frustrating to be in a cycle of pain and recovery constantly. They may get some short term relief or reduction of pain but it always comes back within a few days. This episode looks at why non specific lower back pain is not a real diagnosis. • 87. Do this and add 10% to your squat - EP | 87

    22:00||Ep. 87
    Todays podcast is all about squatting. Its an exercise that is very easy to master with the right processes in place. So if you are struggling keep it simple and do these 3 things very well. 1 - You cannot outwork a bad position, technique and how you maintain your position is everything. You need a repeatable process every time you squat. 2 - Get enough exposure throughout the week. You do not need to squat 3 - 4 times but I would suggest squatting 2 x per week if you are still learning the skill.3 - Build some muscle mass, its not all about leveraging the best position, mass moves mass. So train specifically to build. Do these 3 things and watch your squat numbers improve by 10%. You are welcome!
