The Time Machine

The time traveller has a frightening experience as he makes first contact with one of the Morlocks. What a strange creature it is. What makes it stranger still is his realisation that the Morlocks and the Eloi are part of the future of human-kind.

The time traveller's time machine has been taken. It's been moved! Gone! But where? Is he trapped out of time forever?

The traveller spends more time with the beautiful little people. He considers various theories as to why they survive as they do. He is wrong.

The time traveller arrives in a strange future time of fragile and beautiful people who take him in and introduce him to wonderful fruits and flowers. He attempts to communicate. Why are these beautiful people not more advanced? Why is the architecture so ancient and weathered? Where is their modern technology?

The time traveller begins to recount his fantastic experience. What will he see? What dangers will he face? Where will he end up or when?

His six guests await the time traveller in his drawing room for dinner. Why is he late? When he finally enters the room, join the narrator as he describes his and the other guests' shock as they clamour incredulously at the traveller's dishevelled, haggard appearance and the fantastic thing he says he has achieved.

The time traveller demonstrates a scale model of the time machine to his astounded and disbelieving guests. Will it work?

In this first chapter of the Hot Cocoa Club production of The Time Machine, the time traveller introduces his sceptical dinner guests to the concept of time travel. Are they right to be so disbelieving or has the time traveller got verification of his fantastic claim.
