The Thoughtful Talents Show

Futuristic® w/ Ron Cheshire and Bill Beachy

Season 1, Ep. 22

Are you excited by opportunities to find a new way, envision what could be, think about what is to come? For those with Futuristic talents, this is not a once-in-a-while exercise but a daily, continuous activity.

In today’s episode we welcome Bill Beachy and Ron Cheshire to the podcast to share with us their personal insights about the CliftonStrengths talent theme, Futuristic.

Bill and Ron share with us how their Futuristic talents’ ability to look ahead, impacts their decision making for today. In their lives, it even helps them inform their “why” (for Ron) and “where” (for Bill). They yearn to look beyond immediate circumstances to envision the future and what could be. Even in times of change, this ability to envision a better tomorrow allows them to pivot, if necessary, but keep positive progress and forward momentum, giving hope to those around them.

Listen as Bill and Ron share ways to encourage and acknowledge those with Futuristic talents, and how to help them share their vision with others.

  • 36. Includer®️ (w/ Florence Hardy and Shaina Lane)

    01:01:05
Do you long to make others feel valued and included? On this episode of The Thoughtful Talents Show, e2grow & Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches Florence Hardy and Shaina Lane share their insights on the CliftonStrengths® Includer® talent theme. We learn those with Includer talents are great at building community and creating meaningful connections with others. They have a keen awareness of when others are feeling left out, and regularly use their ability to make others feel comfortable, heard, valued, and ultimately put them at ease.   Florence and Shaina highlight how their Includer talents allow them to create space while (and by) withholding judgments. They have a willingness to accept and invite others in, regardless of their opinions. They are uninterested in hierarchy, as they believe everyone has value and something to contribute. They share that unlike others who may try to influence (like WOO) or have an agenda to 'get stuff done' (like Achievers), those with Includer strictly want others to be and feel included, with no alternate agenda For those with high Includer, realize that there can be issues when inviting too many people in. Use care not to invite 'too many cooks to the kitchen'. Setting clear expectations can help provide guardrails to reduce delays that could be caused by wanting all voices to be heard.   We invite you to share with us your personal experience with the Includer theme.OUR GUESTS:Florence Hardy @ Labo des TalentsLinkedIn | WebsiteFlorence’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Input | Positivity | Connectedness | Includer | Ideation Shaina Lane @ Premier Professional CoachingLinkedIn | Website: Shaina’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Responsibility | Relator | Learner | Arranger | Includer YOUR HOSTS:Jen Werner @ Jen Werner CoachingLinkedIn | Website Jen’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Responsibility | Achiever | Belief | Deliberative | Activator Chad Ahern @ Talent and Teams ConsultingLinkedIn | WebsiteChad’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Learner | Deliberative | Responsibility | Harmony | Analytical Learn more about CliftonStrengths Talent Themes:https://www.gallup.com/cliftonstrengths/en/home.aspxhttps://www.gallup.com/topic/includer-theme.aspx The opinions and insights we, and our guests, share on each CliftonStrengths theme are our own and are based on our understanding of Gallup’s Strengths-based development research. • 35. Discipline®️ (w/ Kristen O'Shea and Ron Cheshire)

    46:39
Is your life organized for maximum efficiency? On this episode we welcome e2grow & Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches Kristen O’Shea and Ron Cheshire to explore with us the CliftonStrengths® Discipline® talent theme. They share how their Discipline talents allow them to plan resources such as time & energy for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Setting routines and creating structure helps to reduce the cognitive load, allowing them to not waste precious resources on the day-to-day mundane duties. They often like to lend their talents to others, helping them to get organized. The help us understand that many people with Discipline talents consider themselves self-starters who prefer clear expectations. They want to be in control of their time, energy, and resources; feeling they can produce the best outcomes when given the autonomy to create necessary efficiencies. If you have high Discipline, know that not everyone embraces your love of routines, it’s important to judge others' work based on the results...not the methods. If you’re working with someone with high Discipline talents, invite them to share with you ways to create structure for maximum efficiency. We invite you to share with us your personal experience with the Discipline theme. OUR GUESTS:Kristen O'Shea @ O’Shea Strengths CoachingLinkedIn | WebsiteKristen’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Responsibility | Discipline | Individualization | Harmony | Focus Ron Cheshire @ Co-Leadership GroupLinkedIn | Company Website | Coaching WebsiteRon’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Individualization | Strategic | Analytical | Futuristic | Discipline YOUR HOSTS:Jen Werner @ Jen Werner CoachingLinkedIn | WebsiteJen’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Responsibility | Achiever | Belief | Deliberative | Activator Chad Ahern @ Talent and Teams ConsultingLinkedIn | WebsiteChad’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Learner | Deliberative | Responsibility | Harmony | Analytical Learn more about CliftonStrengths Talent Themes:https://www.gallup.com/cliftonstrengths/en/home.aspxhttps://www.gallup.com/topic/discipline-theme.aspx The opinions and insights we, and our guests, share on each CliftonStrengths theme are our own and are based on our understanding of Gallup’s Strengths-based development research. • 34. Self Assurance® (w/ Dr. Jan Peters and Maureen Rabotin)

    01:05:35
Do you regularly trust your gut instincts? On this episode we explore the CliftonStrengths® Self-Assurance® talent theme with Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches, Dr. Jan Peters and Maureen Rabotin. Jan and Maureen share how their Self-Assurance talents provide them an internal direction and a general sense of 'I've got this’ in the face of uncertainty. Unlike some of the other influencing themes we’ve explored, this theme is not interested in comparisons. We learn this talent theme brings an energy and passion that helps them make decisions easily and move the project forward. Due to their strong presence, they share this theme’s energy can be contagious but also make them overly persuasive and not back down when challenged. If you're working with others who share Self-Assurance, it’s good to know that they prefer to be asked for their input rather than being given strict direction. If they appear to be coming on too strong, it's best to ‘call them in’ and get curious about where their internal compass is leading, rather than ‘calling them out’ in front of others. Working with those with Self-Assurance, ask questions to help them articulate their passion and instinct, leading the way for the good of the group.Share with us your personal insights into the Self-Assurance theme! OUR GUESTS:Maureen Rabotin @ Effective Global LeadershipLinkedIn | WebsiteMaureen’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Strategic | Self-Assurance | Activator | Adaptability | IdeationDr. Jan Peters, MBE @ KatalytikLinkedIn | LinktreeJan’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Strategic | Ideation | Self-Assurance | Activator | Command YOUR HOSTS:Jen Werner @ Jen Werner CoachingLinkedIn | Website Jen’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Responsibility | Achiever | Belief | Deliberative | Activator Chad Ahern @ Talent and Teams ConsultingLinkedIn | WebsiteChad’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Learner | Deliberative | Responsibility | Harmony | AnalyticalLearn more about CliftonStrengths Talent Themes:https://www.gallup.com/cliftonstrengths/en/home.aspxhttps://www.gallup.com/topic/self-assurance-theme.aspxThe opinions and insights we, and our guests, share on each CliftonStrengths® theme are our own and are based on our understanding of Gallup’s strengths-based development research. Do you regularly step-up and take charge? In this episode, we are joined by Kevin Thiele and Petchell Luepke, both Gallup-Certified Strengths Coaches, to shine the spotlight on the CliftonStrengths® Command® talent theme Command. Rather than avoiding differences in opinion, they use their direct approach to explain their viewpoint, and then help others gain a new perspective or find clarity.  While this theme can tend to come on strong, our guests shared that there is an advocacy in their motivation. They enjoy being the voice for others, unafraid to speak up and face conflict with, as Kevin says, a ‘confident vulnerability.’Join the conversation by leaving a comment with your thoughts and experiences on this theme...especially if Command is in your Top 5.OUR GUESTS:Petchell LuepkeLinkedInPetchell’s Top 5 Clifton Strengths: Activator | Connectedness | Empathy | Input | CommandKevin Thiele @ Sales CodeLinkedIn | PodcastKevin’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths: Command | Communication | Achiever | Self-Assurance | CompetitionYOUR HOSTS:Jen Werner @ Jen Werner CoachingLinkedIn | WebsiteJen's Top 5 CliftonStrengths themes: Responsibility | Achiever | Belief | Deliberative | ActivatorChad Ahern @ Talent and Teams ConsultingLinkedIn | WebsiteChad's Top 5 CliftonStrengths themes: Learner | Deliberative | Responsibility | Harmony | AnalyticalLearn more about CliftonStrengths Talent Themes:https://www.gallup.com/cliftonstrengths/en/home.aspxhttps://www.gallup.com/topic/ideation-theme.aspxThe opinions and insights we share on each CliftonStrengths theme are our own and are based on our understanding of Gallup’s Strengths-based development research.
