What does the age of consent actually mean?And why is it different depending on where you are in the world?In this episode, I explore those two questions in real time. I also share parts of my own story and explain why I believe we need better conversations in schools, homes, and organisations if we are serious about prevention and early intervention.This talk includes three questions that many people will find uncomfortable, but I ask them for a reason. My goal is not to shock. My goal is to help people think more deeply, speak more openly, and feel more confident beginning conversations that too often never happen.Topics covered include:- child sexual abuse and exploitation- grooming in person and online- why children and teenagers may not speak up- the difference between pre-pubescent children and post-pubescent teenagers- how schools, parents, and professionals can create safer environments- why better communication is central to preventionPlease take care while listening.
