The Social Contract with Joe Walsh

Sat down again with my socialist friend again (we use these labels even though we’re both more nuanced than the labels) and we got into money in politics & campaign finance laws. We had very different views but agreed big time on the need for transparency.

An unprecedented, illegal, utterly corrupt $1.8 billion taxpayer funded slush fund. The IRS agrees never to audit him and his family. He throws his corruption in our faces every day at a scale Americans have never seen. The only question is: What comes after Trump?

Donald Trump is doing something unprecedented, completely wrong, and utterly corrupt. He’s stealing $1.8 billion from American taxpayers to give to his political friends and use against his political enemies. Who’s to blame for this? Republicans. Every single Republican.

Yes, Donald Trump originated the 2020 “stolen” election lie, and yes, Trump is the biggest sore loser in all of human history. But my entire former political party echoes Trump’s lie, and they’ve all willingly become sore losers. Such a damn shame.

Two days ago, Trump said, word for word, he doesn’t think about Americans’ financial situation. And in the two days since, every Republican and so many in the media have bent into pretzels saying that he didn’t say what he said. Just pathetic.
