The Social Contract with Joe Walsh

People in the Trump administration continue to brag about how they’ve dramatically decreased legal immigration. And in fact, the numbers show they decreased legal immigration way more than they have illegal immigration. Also…disagreement should not mean hate. Also, a true act of heroism.

Almost everybody Trump is deporting does not have a criminal record. They are brown and black immigrants who are here and work hard. And Trump deporting them is devastating our economy - from farms, to restaurants, to…nursing homes. Yep, if Trump gets his way tens of thousands of elderly Americans will lose their caregivers. So damn wrong and cruel.

The President of the United States was up all night posting crazy shit. Including a meme of himself as Jesus Christ. It may sound weird, but I don’t blame Trump for this. I blame all his supporters & sycophants. They’ve taught him to believe that he’s God, that he should be worshipped. This is on them.

I sat down this week with Jason Estevez, Democratic candidate for Governor in Georgia. We talked about the Democratic Party, his campaign, what voters are looking for these days, and how Democrats can best be successful and win. He’s a really cool dude. Real. Normal. What the party needs.

Mark Rutte, NATO’s Secretary General, was asked yesterday about Trump’s public threat to kill every single person living in Iran. He wouldn’t comment on it. Instead, he flattered Trump. How are bad men able to do bad things? Because good men are too afraid to act.

Every war Iran fights is a holy war, I mean, that’s what that Islamist theocracy is and does. Well, it turns out our current administration is all about holy wars too, and it turns out, Trump launched his war against Iran as a holy war, in the name of white Christian nationalism.

This morning, he made a public threat to end Iranian civilization tonight. Anyone surprised by this has not been paying attention. We have a madman in the White House. And as long as my former party remain cowards, the madman will remain in the White House. The rest of us are called to resist him at every turn and defeat him and my former party in every election.
