The Social Contract with Joe Walsh

Two children in Minnesota are now going to grow up without their father. And too many voices on the left are celebrating their father’s killer. If you’re cheering for this 26yr old murderer, you’re no different than MAGA, who cheers for the domestic terrorists who stormed the Capitol on January 6th. Political violence is political violence and it must always be condemned.

Smile. The good guys are winning. And the bad guys - Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, Syria and Russia - are losing. I know things seem like they’re always crappy, but the good guys - The US, Israel, Ukraine, and the West are winning. And that’s a really good thing for the whole world. And btw, alliances matter.

Trump sat down yesterday with NBC for his first media interview since he won. And virtually every word out of his mouth was a lie. Was untrue. But Americans made clear in November, that they don't care that they're being lied to like this. Forget about policy disagreements for a moment, how do we proceed as a people if so many Americans just fundamentally no longer care about the truth? What are the implications?

A lot of talk of late of pardons. A lot of talk of late that Joe Biden should pardon Donald Trump. To heal the country…to end this “weaponization” of the justice system that supposedly both sides have been engaged in for too long. Bullshit. What Trump did was too serious. And bullshit. This isn’t a “both sides” issue.

Why did Donald Trump win and why did Kamala Harris lose? They've only been a democracy since the late 1980's. Their President two nights ago declared martial law, and the military was sent out to the streets and surrounded the parliament. But the South Korean people and the members of the Assembly took to the streets too. And said no. And martial law was lifted. Democracy, for now held. South Korea gave us a reminder of how to defend democracy. Will we listen?

No one is above the law. For years, those of us who oppose Donald Trump have been shouting this from the mountaintops. Joe Biden yesterday took our principle away. He silenced our shouts. Yesterday, Biden said his son is in fact above the law. Trump is smiling today. Because he's been normalized. Once again. Thanks to Biden.

We've never had something like this before. A politician who lies virtually every time he opens his mouth. Literally. But Trump has been this way since he came on the scene 9 years ago, and we just reelected him KNOWING he lies virtually every time he opens his mouth. What does that say about us?
