"The Best Meal" — A Homemade Burger, A Free Afternoon, and Pure Happiness

Ep. 2

What makes a meal truly unforgettable?

It's not the restaurant. It's not the recipe. It's not even the ingredients.

One afternoon, I stumbled across a YouTube video of someone making a homemade burger. The thumbnail alone had me clicking in 0.3 seconds. And just like that — Pon-chan and I decided to make one ourselves.

Ground beef. Melted cheese. Japanese shokupan bread. Mayo, mustard, ketchup. And a sprinkle of Horinishi — Japan's ultimate all-purpose outdoor spice.

It didn't look anything like the video. But the taste? Absolutely incredible.

This episode is about more than a burger. It's about the quiet joy of cooking together without a plan. The laughter when things don't look perfect. The way food made with your own hands — shared with someone you love — always tastes better than anything else.

Everyday home cooking matters. And I want to share that feeling with the world.

The best meals are born from a random video, a free afternoon, and someone you want to share it with.

🎵 Lyrics: "The Best Meal"

[Verse 1]

I was scrolling through my phone one afternoon A thumbnail caught my eye beneath the afternoon moon Someone flipping burgers, cheese all golden and bright 0.3 seconds — I clicked, and something felt right

[Pre-Chorus]

I said, "Hey, let's try it" She said, "Let's just see" No plan, no recipe Just you and me

[Chorus]

Salt and pepper, a little horinishi Bread from the konbini, mayo, mustard, and cheese It didn't look perfect — but God, it tasted like a dream The best meal is always simpler than it seems

[Verse 2]

We laughed at the shape, said "it's close enough" Ground beef in the pan, getting golden and rough The cheese melted slow, the veggies piled high Some things don't need to be perfect to satisfy

[Pre-Chorus]

No fancy kitchen No five-star review Just a free afternoon And someone to share it with you

[Chorus]

Salt and pepper, a little horinishi Bread from the konbini, mayo, mustard, and cheese It didn't look perfect — but God, it tasted like a dream The best meal is always simpler than it seems

[Bridge]

If it fails, it becomes a story we tell If it works, it's a memory we hold so well Everyday cooking — it matters more than we know A table set with love is the finest place to go

The greatest meals aren't born from perfection or plan They come from a moment, a free afternoon, and a hand Reaching out to someone and saying "Hey — want to make something together today?"

[Verse 3]

I want to share this feeling with the whole wide world That happiness is hiding in the everyday unfurled A simple Sunday burger, a laugh, a bite, a smile Some things don't need to cost much to make life worthwhile

[Final Chorus]

Salt and pepper, a little horinishi Bread from the konbini, mayo, mustard, and cheese It didn't look perfect — but God, it tasted like a dream The best meal is always simpler than it seems

[Outro]
