I am a witch. Or at least, that's what someone called me once.The inaugural episode both of this podcast and of "The Everyforest", a 9-part novelette.

If this is the beforelife, then what was that? Was humanity a pilot project, a little space for your soul to do warm-up exercises in before its triathlon?

In a slight change of pace for the podcast, I decided to read a draft portion of the beginning of one of my long-term writing projects, called CONTEXT. It was inspired in large part by one of ALICE NINE.'s albums, GEMINI. Despite its short length, I hope it still provides you with a little moment of strangeness upon listening.

The planes are grounded for people like us; we fly with our eyes, and with our heads and hearts, while our bodies lie stretched out in bed, the afternoon in our rooms an indistinct halo of light. Look -- If we can’t escape to the Stars, we might as well tunnel into the Earth.

In the wake of your patient notes / Let my frenzied steps / Fall quietly into line
