  • 12. Dark Family Secrets: Author Frank Stanfield ("Murder In The Graveyard: A Family Cult Tragedy")!

    34:29||Season 15, Ep. 12
    We hear unusual stories about some of the things that happen in Florida, and Frank has been reporting on a lot of these, for quite some time. But this story involving the Anselmo family is one that needs to be read to be believed. You can even hear the incredulousness (was that in my "Word A Day" calendar?) in Frank's voice as he describes some of the events in the interview. And mind you, he was in the courtroom during the murder trial, too! Even though there were no vampires in the Anselmo family, you'll hear the surprising link to a story about a vampire cult. (Also, note that no one turned into a bat during the interview...) • 1. Podcaster John Svedese("From Podcast to Vodcast")!

    34:10||Season 6, Ep. 1
    A "Sherpa Select" from the premiere of Season 6! Alas, I don't think John has done any new episodes in some time, but check out the YouTube videos on how to mak an effective video podcast. Step one...don't look like me!!!____________________________________________________________________________________________________________I think if you've got a podcast and you want to bring it to a video platform, then John's show is what you need to listen to. And of course, if you're looking for an example of what not to do week, to week, congratulations, Columbus, welcome to the New World! Wait, did I say "Welcome to Season 6"? Apparently not, and fortunately, the voices in my head didn't answer. John was lots of fun to talk to, and his studio literally looked like a fake Zoom background, but you can tell the work that he's doing is very real. John actually interviewed someone who was supposed to be on this show. I interviewed them, but the file was unusable.. Well, because my voice was on it-do you blame me? Anyway, I'm glad he got his interview.. And thanks so much for coming on the show!John's info: Website: vodsquad.live ; Instagram, Facebook, Twitter: @podtovodJohn's faves: Dad's World Live, Jeff needs Sports, Pod Jerky, From The Middle, Monday Morning Podcast (Bill Burr)Sherpa Suggestions(Podcasts about podcasting): https://www.weeditpodcasts.com/top-10-podcasts-about-podcasting/Podcraft5 Minute MondaysPodcasting Step By StepPodcast Engineering ShwShe PodcastsThe Audacity to PodcastSchool of PodcastingPodcaster's RoundtableThe FeedBetter PodcastingDon't forget to check out my Spotify-exclusive mini-podcast with Mr (Uncle)Bruce and me. • 23. YouTuber Cody Langley ("POPular Opinion")!

    31:34||Season 5, Ep. 23
    Who knew, I'd end up discussing Funko Pops...again? Anyhoots, Cody hasn't put any new "POPular Opinions out lately. My suspicion is he b ought all the Funko Pops a man can ask for. (Please don't ask me what that number is...) But check this fun(ko) interview out, okay?________________________________________________________________________________________________________"I'm pretty Southern. You might need subtitles for me." So said today's guest. Hey, if Cody was able to understand me, I wouldn't need subtitles. I was surprised that I'd learn even more about Funko Pops, when I never even knew about them a few months earlier. Cody's YouTube channel is very unique. He's a guy who certainly likes to have fun on camera, and with his guests. If I were playing "Wheel of Misfortune", I'd have to be very careful. Truth be told, I had a vowel-buying problem a number of years ago. But I'm much better. For now, anyway. • 25. Actor/Writer/Playwright Billy Van Zandt! ("Love, Sex, and The IRS")

    56:37||Season 5, Ep. 25
    I decided this would be a fun way to end 2025-with a rewind to a visit with a fin guest! Bet you didn't know that Billy did a voiceover as Groucho Marx for "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" in 2022, and published his plays that he wrote with his late writing partner, Jane, in a book titled," Because It's Funny" . And you'll have no doubt that it is after listening to this interview!!____________________________________________________________________________________________________It's so cool when I get to interview such creative and multi-talented people for my season finales, don't you think? Billy Van Zandt certainly fits the bill. His publicist Jian, who was also a HUGE help in setting up the interview, sent me a copy of his book, Jane, Get In The Car, which I read off my computer, so I can't call it a page-turner, legally...maybe a slow-computer screen scroll down, so you can enjoy all of the chapters? It's a fun read, regardless. The writing style of the book is like how Billy was in the interview-straightforward, funny, interesting, and entertaining. All of this made him an ideal guest for the podcast, too. It's chock full of stories that give you a great insight on the life of a tv writer. Trust me, you'll enjoy it. Maybe Billy will make a play out of it? Whatever he does next, I'm sure will be something to keep the masses entertained. Much thanks for coming on the show, sir!Next week, we wrap up Season 5 with a mini-episode....tune in, okay?Follow the show on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram at @Sherpalution, and check out my website, sherpalution.com , for older episodes, Sherpa Sheets, and Spotify playlists. • 22. Podcasters JD and The Ghost ("Goin' Hollywood")!

    41:22||Season 5, Ep. 22
    Alas, no new episodes to be found of "Goin Hollywood" , but there is a "Going Hollywood" which has nothing to do with this episode. I remember recording this one was actually a technical nightmare, because the guys kept losing their connection. Personally, I think I deserve a mixing award for this! Ok, maybe not...but enjoy it, anyway!!___________________________________________________________________________________________________-So, who do you usually discuss movies with? Your friends,right? Whether it's a debate or a dialogue reference, those are best saved for your buddies. Which leads to a natural creation of 'Goin ' Hollywood " by JD and The Ghost. It's two guys with a strong love of the cinema and all the joys it brings (or doesn't bring) us. They were 2 guys that were definitely interesting to speak with. Plus, how often do I get to break out my bad Joe Pesci impression? Or will the Rebels say, "Look what you made him do!!??"Either way, thanks guys for swinging by!Goin' Hollywood's info: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok @goinhollywoodpodGoin' Hollywood's faves: Timesuck with Dan Cummins, Last Podcast on the Left, Nightmare on Film Street, The GOAT HouseSherpa Suggestions: The Top 20 Podcasts of 2020, https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/best-podcasts-2020-1105406/SomebodyChameleon:Hollywood Con QueenFloodlinesHome CookingStaying In with Emily & KumailWorking It Out w/ Mike BirbigliaMotive: Season 3Unspooled Season 2: The New 100Nice White ParentsBorrascaRabbit HoleDead EyesSlow Burn: David DukeWind of ChangeYou Must Remember This:Polly Platt, The Invisible WomanFollow the show on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram at @Sherpalution, and check out my website, sherpalution.com , for older episodes, Sherpa Sheets, and Spotify playlists. • 24. Actress Shannan Wilson ("Halston")!

    39:16||Season 5, Ep. 24
    Shannan is one of those guests that I need to play catch-up with! Her IMDB lists a few upcoming projects, so Shannan, whenever you're ready, come on back to the Sherpa Chalet! (Maybe without the restraining order, possibly?)____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________It was a real treat meeting Shannan. As I noted in the episode, I was sort of expecting someone who can play dramatic, intense roles to be super- serious. Wrong!! She was the type of fun guest I love interviewing in The Screening Room. Somebody needs to cast this lady in a comedy, and stat! (She's already got a background in improvisation, anyway.) And when she becomes mega-famous, she'll already have known the ropes of QVC, so she can sell the Shannan Wilson line of clothing, guitars, or IV-drip ice cream. (Okay, maybe not that last one. It's what got me thrown out of "Shark Tank.") So, keep an eye open for "Halston" on Netflix, and check out "Sno Babies" on Amazon Prime, for a sampling of her dramatic chops. Or listen to one of her songs which is on Spotify and iTunes. Better yet, have a listen to one at the end of this interview!"I Know You Exist" is an original composition, which is played with Shannan's blessing (Thank you!)Follow the show on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram at @Sherpalution, and check out my website, sherpalution.com , for older episodes, Sherpa Sheets, and Spotify playlists.
