Spurs Secure Third Win Over Thunder, Extending Winning Streak to Eight Games
The San Antonio Spurs continued their dominance over the Oklahoma City Thunder, securing a 117-102 victory on Thursday night. DeAaron Fox led the Spurs with 29 points, marking their third win over the defending NBA champs in just two weeks. The Spurs improved to 23-7, maintaining an eight-game winning streak.
Earlier in the week, the Spurs beat the Thunder in San Antonio and in an NBA Cup semifinal. Victor Wembanyama contributed 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Stephon Castle added 19 points and 7 assists. The Spurs shot over 53% from the field and held the Thunder to under 39%.
Despite sitting atop the Western Conference, the Thunder suffered their second home loss of the season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the reigning MVP, scored 22 points but struggled, shooting just 7 of 19 from the field. Isaiah Hartenstein had 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Chet Holmgren added 10 points and 12 boards.
