Running Marathons while Launching a Business | Natal Active's Claire Gleave

Season 1, Ep. 4

Ever felt frustrated that you couldn't find comfortable active wear that fit your growing bump, or struggled out of a restrictive sports bra to give your baby a feed? Claire Gleave was fed up of not finding the right gear when she was pregnant, and went on to found her very own activewear brand to fill that gap.

Natal Active has since gone from strength-to-strength while Claire has continued her impressive running streak, from chasing pbs to running for wellbeing, all while being mum to her three boys!

Claire shares why what you wear matters, and how to stay comfortable and able to keep moving, whether you're pregnant or have a baby or older child. She also talks about the breastfeeding mums she followed through London Marathon this year and how she's working to raise the profile of running mothers.

Claire herself has pushed her limits to reach her own goals and her dedication to helping other women do the same is really inspiring.

This week I spoke to the wonderful Christine Bateman - a mum of three from Canada who has been on a rollercoaster ride with her running. She came to running after becoming a parent and her newfound hobby went from a source of comfort to an unhealthy obsession. As she pursued her quest of qualifying for Boston her anxiety took hold and all the joy she once found from running disappeared. All this was going on while Christine was suffering from adenomyosis and then undiagnosed ADHD. Her overtraining and underfuelling eventually caught up with her and then on top of all that, a fall left her with two broken arms and shortly afterwards she had to have major surgery.Amazingly, Christine has got through all of this and shares how she turned things full circle and found her love for running again, and made friends for life along the way. Now she runs without expectations or pressure, purely for joy, and she spreads that positive energy wherever she runs.If you've ever felt like the pressure has got too much, in running or parenthood, then this episode is sure to leave you feeling more positive that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and there are great things around the corner when you find the right support.I hope you enjoy the episode!
